UGA complaining to us, eh? The whole entire UT fanbase should write 10 letters per person to the SEC head office talking about Tuttle's injury due to a pup playing with a piss poor attitude.

I don't blame anyone for complaining about the field. It's dangerous. Players get hurt on crap fields like that.

Shoe on the other foot, we would also complain if Hurd blew out his knee on an opponent's crappy field.

That doesn't change the fact that Tuttle got his knee blown out from a dirty play. My policy on dirty plays is you miss the amount of time as the victim of your crime. Been advocating this for years in football and hockey, along with any other sport where contact happens.

So they think our field injured Chubb? I was under the impression it was how he landed in it. He didn't slip or loose his footing at all. That was entirely bad luck and he occasioned it.

They are probably alleging our bad field created the conditions for his landing and injury.

Can't say for sure what would've happened on a good field but I'd prefer if we weren't in a situation where opponents have a basis for the allegation.

Pretty interesting article on grass v field turf stadiums in the NFL. It is pretty evenly split 50/50 throughout the NFL on the amount of stadiums that have either.

I agree with the basic premise they state that good grass is better than field turf and field turf is better than bad grass. UT needs to figure out if good grass is possible. If they can't do it, field turf needs to be the answer.

UGA complains endlessly about the field every time they play in Neyland. Their media runs scathing articles about it, and UGA homers were tweeting and calling in to tSECN about it this year. The announcer who was most critical last week was Matt Stinchcomb-- a UGA grad. He had a valid point about the field looking bad, but he took it to the extreme, having the cameras zoom in repeatedly and counting tackles by the grass. If UGA could sue us, I'm sure they would.

Tom Herman to usce

Edit never mind stupid twitter trolls.

As I read on the Texas board. "Why would he go from one middling job to another where expectations of success are higher and chances of success are lower?" Don't think he goes there.

Field Turf with a large image of the state in a darker shade on the field covering like 60 yards would be great. Of course orange power T at midfield.

Most teams do dark shade for 10 yards lighter for 10...

I just don't see this grass getting fixed anytime soon. Field Turf and call it a day. Im sick of hearing about it

Tennessee had a Great natural surface several years ago. Should be able to do so again.

No coach in his right mind would jump at USC this early (if they are truly an up and comer like Herman, Fuente). Soooo many jobs open. Leverage

Titans field is good and gets over double what our field does. Ours has been one of the best in the country years past. Not sure our dirt got bad all of a sudden.

Regarding the discussion of Hurd's dissatisfaction, through 13 games last year he had 39 yards for loss. Through only 10 games this year, he already has 53 yards for loss. He averaged 4.7 vs 4.4 yards per carry this year.

Agreed. Was watching NIU the other night and noticed the Illinois outline a shade darker at midfield. Looked great.
