Bruin- are the current cleats a problem for the players or are they trying a different cleat to combat this ridiculous grass or lack thereof lol! Thanks!

Grounds crew won't know that. He's going to have to drink with the equipment guys. :)

Hello Volnation Friends.. Sorry to derail the thread, I just wanted to take the time to check in with everyone.

Last time I posted on here, I was in need of help meaning lots of prayers. Looks like like all of them paid off because I am doing much better and have hope now that everything is gonna be fine. After a ton of tests and all that good stuff, the drs found absolutely nothing wrong with me in that regard. But I was having other symptoms of another condition and she determined that is what I have and she is treating me with some good medicine that I will have to take for the rest of my life which is fine. That said, this condition will not bring me down and I'm gonna just carry on with my normal life of love, laughter, exercising, and eating and sleeping good. So I feel like my life is back to the way it was before this bump in the road, but such is life.

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing ok. Now lets win these last two games and finish 8-4 and go to a good bowl game.

LV's lucky to win tonight. Horrible shooting beyond 3 feet from the basket. If Graves doesn't have a career night they get beat by a mid level B10 team at home.

I'm already annoyed at the "UT isn't even the second best team in the state" nonsense that's coming after MTSU beats north Texas by 50.

I was really disappointed. With the talent on this team, they should have destroyed them. They were sloppy.

As published earlier - UT has a world renowned expert for sports turfs located 5 minutes from the campus. Never consulted him. If you are the AD, how do you not pick up the phone and call him the very first time your head coach tells you about it?

Or 3 years ago when people started noticing how awful the field was starting to look?

I agree. It was so disjointed. No flow. They said Holly didn't want to run a transition style game, well, OK then. I don't agree against that zone, however, go ahead and play good half court offense. Nothing. Very frustrating.

The field was really nice the first two years after Bobby Campbell left. It's been in a slow but steady decline since.

3 years ago wasn't bad enough to affect games, just less aesthetically pleasing than before. The tail end of last year was when things really started to turn.

I remember dozens of tweets every game day in 2013 about how shoddy it was looking.

Our athletic department has been a joke for over 5 years.

So when Seybold was first here things were good?

Started to decline 3 years ago?

If that is the case I know what that leads me to believe

Not getting the grass vs turf talk. If you want to keep grass fine. But @&%$@&$ fix it. Plenty of grass fields are functional on game day. Ours is not. Fix it, replace it, don't care which you do bit it has to be better

SIAP... didn't we replace all the grass just before the season? Is it possible that the roots didn't get established well enough? Don't recall this being a big problem in the past.

We've replaced the grass every year, something the old groundskeeper never did, according to deer Park

I skimmed over to catch up in this thread... Were we too busy discussing the grass to talk about thousands of gator fans getting catfished by a guy who started his own forum? If that was discussed, can someone point me to a page number because that story is HILARIOUS to me

Their defense screams good to me.

Our final two opponents are both teams with great defences and terrible offenses. Both have given some good teams problems. Overall, I wouldn't call either an easy opponent because each defense is so good.

If our defence played as well as Vandy or Mizzou's, we'd all be talking about our upcoming trip to Atlanta and our chances in the playoffs.

Our defense with Justin Martin is better than both units.
