Saw that Missouri has only allowed 7 touchdowns in the second half in 10 games. That's impressive

Cutting your lawn to make it look nice in no way affects the integrity of the lawn. That's the best excuse they can come up with?

Cutting it too short can...
Watering too frequently but without enough volume can cause a short root system and fragile grass and turf…

Don't take the above statement as any indication that I am agreeing with Bruin in any way shape or form :)

This turf talk got me thinking....

What's different about Haslam practice field? It does not visually look as poor as S-W field based on practice photos but UT Sports usually puts those out and they edit them to make it look good. And if any surface should look awful it's he practice field.

Also, I wonder if practicing on our interior practice turf adversely affects our performance in grass? Probably overthinking that.

When they originally put the real grass field back in, it was supposedly engineered with great drainage. Now it doesn't look that way at least from TV. Maybe the problem is they are drainage system is no longer functioning at peak efficiency?
Could you check into that and get back to VN in plenty of time to fix it before the next home game? Thanks!

Try a 3rd time and you might get it right. :)

Ohio state thought so.

Seriously. I know everyone hates a conspiracy but I am told this a hart vs jones campaign. Butch wants turf and has taken all this to the media to blow it up beyond proportions to try to get turf.

The new cleat is supposedly as much of the problem as the field. Now the field is worse than before but as I stated earlier some are blaming butch for that part.

Just interesting food for thought. I have no real opinion on it

Butch must have gotten all of our opponents in on your big cleat conspiracy too, Bruin. He's a mastermind.

No doubt he wants turf, but the cleat thing is ridiculous. No way he'd actually make decisions that could cost him a game just to get field turf.

You would think these kids that KNOW they are going to be playing in the meanest dog fightin pit conference in CFB would..you know..maybe work out a lot more, so they don't come in looking like playdo. I realize they can't go super crazy with it, but come on.

It's just not feasible to expect most 18-19 year olds, on their own, to be able to gain the strength necessary to compete against guys who have been in SEC strength and conditioning programs for 3-5 years.

Haven't seen a negligible strength advantage with Crowder...seems like more bad guys in the backfield than when Jones was in.

My biggest complaint with Crowder is that he's just not athletic enough to do well when we want to pull him, especially for outside runs.

I just don't see it. They almost lost to Arkansas St and Uconn, lost to UK and Vandy, averaged scoring 6.25 points scored in their 4 straight losses, and have a record of 5-5 overall. What screams good to you? We should handle them easily.

Their defense screams good to me.

Our final two opponents are both teams with great defences and terrible offenses. Both have given some good teams problems. Overall, I wouldn't call either an easy opponent because each defense is so good.

If our defence played as well as Vandy or Mizzou's, we'd all be talking about our upcoming trip to Atlanta and our chances in the playoffs.

Mizzou and Vandys defenses are poster children for the fact that disciplined, aggressive defense can hide a multitude of recruiting sins. They get supreme mileage from little real talent.

Sure, but they are not a good team.
