Sounds like wishful thinking from a Florida fan who is seeing his program reap the benefits of bad hires made by Miami.

Miami can still find the right guy and stockpile a bunch of talent from Southern Florida and do some winning in the ACC.

HG's right on this. They will still find some talent, send kids to the NFL and win their share of games, but A LOT of things have to change before the U is back to where it was in the 90s.

It's a far different environment in college football today.

We could have a front 7 in 4-3 formations that is nearly 20 players deep next year.

DE: Barnett/Mixon/Lewis
DT: McKenzie/O'Brien/Vickers
DT: Tuttle/Johnson/Picou
DE: Phillips/Taylor/Butcher

LB: McDowell/Sapp
LB: Kirkland/Bynum
LB: JRM/Bates

Austin Smith will be in there somewhere as well, either as LB or DE. Also add Derrick Brown to the DT lineup if we land him.

Don't worry. Half of them will be hurt by mid-season.

Didn't realize turtles was a knee

Maggitt and Phillips perhaps yes. S&C programs are built for more than just getting bigger, faster, stronger. Preparing the body for injury prevention is just as important

Tuttle was a broken leg. Absolutely nothing to do with strength and conditioning. Everything to do with #54 for Georgia cheap shot

Difficult to determine the fault.

If there were a dozen hamstring injuries or shoulder issues it would be more obvious.

I agree. That's why I said Phillips and maggitt. Maggittt is a hip but still a very weird deal.

I wasn't trying to be a jerk about you sending the info I was just hoping to see how it really was in comparison to others

While we're on the subject, from ESPN's College Football home page...

Gus Malzahn says Auburn freshman CB Jeremiah Dinson will be out for the rest of the season. Dinson tore all three ligaments in his knee, dislocated his knee and dislocated his shoulder in Saturday's game. He'll have surgery Wednesday.

What kind of play resulted in all of this???

Dinson was chasing Kyler Murray from behind, and was a victim of a vicious crack back block. Targeting was initially called on the WR who hit him, but was overturned. Can't overstate the collision, he just crumpled

I assumed it was targeting, armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and 1 count of racketeering...

Ohh. That's right... It is unbelievably unlucky how many season ending injuries we have had. I think it's near 10

My unscientific theory is that is a factor of not redshirting and playing guys too early. They simply don't get the opportunity to turn teen bodies into adult male bodies before putting them through the rigors of a college football season. Weakpoints that could have been strengthened and developed over the course of a year get tested too early and something gives. Building enough depth where players almost automatically redshirt will be a good thing for us.

Defense has some deficiencies, but my main issue has been a lack of forced turnovers. A couple of INTs or a FF easily gets us 2-4 more wins.

Haha

Other than that he's fine

Phillips has had shoulder issues since HS this is nothing on S&C program and more a worry about how stable that shoulder is to be like this for 3 years now

Jermaine eskridge decommited from Kentucky, a 5* wr. Any chance we get in on him? Or do we have other issues?

Would love to see the correlation between the Injury Report and the type conditioning and practice methods over a period of years - then you would have something. Regardless, this is a subject worth reexamining in detail by Butch and staff.

Someone just started a thread wondering if Hurd will be the all time rusher at UT in the football forum. No worries, I set them straight and advised them this is his final 4 games for UT.

All Blue of course!
