Go back if you can and watch the TD pass to Kamara. Jalen makes a huge block to spring him. After the TD everybody goes to congratulate Kamara and celebrate except Jalen. He just turns and jogs back to the bench. I noticed this at the time and thought it strange, even before all this from 74.

It's the offense, bud. It is not designed for superior athletes and to take advantage of match-ups. Butch is a system guy. Jalen and some of the others are figuring that part out. What Jalen does is not lost on the NFL scouts though. They are not nearly as enamored with stats as the media and the average fan.

Now somebody will accuse me of running off recruits.

This is JMO...

But if anyone should be pissed, its Ethan Wolf. That kid is an NFL tight (potentially), and he's criminally under-utilized.

This plus 1000. Here's the thing, these guys want to be surrounded by great players but that also means less touches because there are so many players that need the ball.

If it was me calling plays, it would just be the Hurd/Dobbs/Kamara show as focus while having Wolf/Pearson tear up the middle of the field. Then throw a bone or 2 to Smith/Malone

If all the frustrated, unhappy players leave, we'll be battling for the bottom with UK and Vandy next year. This is a team that should be going to ATL looking at staying in-state for a lower-tier bowl. Elite players came here to compete for championships, and they're pissed about how this season turned out. Noise.

This is ok to me. You have to play as a team, and college coaches aren't paid to highlight their stars. They are paid to use their talent and win games. Usually stardom comes with it.

But Jalen Hurd is getting plenty of opportunities, and I thought Kamara might get upset at his low numbers. But they have found a way to use Kamara more in the passing game.

No doubt that NFL scouts don't care about stats. But guys have to learn that there are other talented players on the roster. I am sure Pearson, North, and Wolf think they could get more balls, too. But there is only one football.

Seemed to work out fine for Isaiah Pead. Butch's last year at Cincinnati. Pead had 1259 rushing yards and 12 TDs.

The problem of systems featuring a particular star player is that the loss of said player is death to the season. We don't yet know whether Butch will get it or not, but, not being dependent on guys like Chubb or Fournette or super star quarterbacks put you in position to remain more consistent through injuries. We've seen what happened to UGA without Chubb (even with highly rated guys on standby) and I think the same fate would befall LSU sans Fournette. Can't say whether Butch will get it done thinking that way, but I like the intent.

Jalen would have far more rushing yards, if the O-line were better.

This O-Line is average to below average. Give me LSU, BAMA's or Georgia Oline anyday and Hurd would be up there in numbers with Henry and Fournette.

Whatever JAllen, our line is just as good as those teams mentioned. It's all about the play calling and scheme, didn't you know that?

So we can just plug Kelly and Young in the system in place of Hurd and Kamara and roll? Wow, that system really is infallible.

This is trash, man, and you have mentioned it numerous times today. Most of the elite players that we have on this roster are freshmen and sophomores with a few juniors sprinkled in. Most rosters that are competing for championships have elite players in all classes. Players, such as Hurd, Barnett, Malone, etc, came here knowing the severity of terribleness of this roster. I'm sure they knew it might be their junior year before they have a legit shot at being in ATL. It just so happened that GA fell on its face yet again, and we are actually ahead in the rebuilding process, due to these sophomores and freshmen performing phenomenally. Are they frustrated because they see how close they are to reaching their goal of getting back to ATL? Absolutely! But you make it sound like this season is a disappointment. If we win out, 8-4 with a pretty decent bowl game (and the 4 losses by a total of 17 points) is not a disappointment. It's a pretty decent improvement, especially when you consider how many injuries we have had, the severity of those injuries, and who those injuries took out for numerous games or the season. If we win out, I think many of these players will reflect and realize just how close we are, and will work that much harder in the offseason to make sure we are checking into a hotel in ATL the 1st weekend of Dec next year.

I remember after the GA win there was a picture of Hurd, Kamara and Dobbs all sitting together celebrating- things seemed good then....

Winning feels good man. Let's close out Mizzou and Vandy. Let Hurd destroy another slow Big10 team and let the hype train roll.

Hang in there Hurd!!! You reap what you sow.
