Exactly. He would have two options for leaving.

1. Sit a year, train, and enter the draft.
2. Sit a year, play for a smaller school, enter the draft.

Option 1 would definitely drop his draft grade over staying here and racking up stats another year. Option 2 would probably drop his draft grade and would definitely take a year off of his NFL career. Either way he's losing big money for what seems like a pretty trivial reason.

I didn't realize he was that bad/good at smack talking. Him and Josh Smith out there together must be driving defenders mad.

I'm no NFL scout, but I would think that Hurd could definitely help his draft grade with another year in this offense, especially with an improved OL next year.

Jalen concurs. He has to be one of the most frustrated RB's in college football. No one expects Jones to change his system, but he can certainly install packages to break up the monotony on occasion. Why would you not play to Jalen's strengths every now and then?

Don't forget they also have to use a lot of power I run concepts. The list is pretty small.
