I wonder if Hurd is one of the guys Butch is talking about bring banged up. He hasn't been hitting the LOS very hard since the Bama game. Hasn't been getting many blocks, but looks like his explosiveness at the point of attack is lacking compared to earlier in the year.

Disagree. He looked just as strong against UK and in the first half of the game last night.

Hopefully he can rest up after a few series vs N.Texas. I'm looking forward to seeing Kelly in the backfield personally.

Yep. Way too much money on the line. I think the president gets canned on Monday, even though that sets a horrible precedent.

Whatever happens, the NCAA needs to revise this forfeit policy...Pandora's Box waiting to happen!

If they fire him without cause, which they would be doing, it could cost Missouri lots of money. I am sure he has a contract.

They could reassign him...there are other positions. I'd say screw em and fire Pinkel while revoking scholarships...lots of CAUSE there.

That seems to address a circumstance where a team physically can't field a team or a game can't be played. I don't think you can assume the same thing would hold for a team just choosing not to play.

You might be onto something there..."not enough players" due to CHOICE?

Exactly. At least in the exerpt that cat quoted, the examples given were all circumstances where teams have no option to play. I would think just deciding not to play is handled differently.

I'm frustrated with giving up the big lead, too, but this would have been a much different game without the Kamara fumble or the Malone perfect TD drop. The game was called well enough for us to win, but we had some execution issues.

Finding a way to win is great, though, and after the Dooley years I can't complain about a victory, especially in SEC play. Maybe this can be a positive -- we obviously have plenty to work on and three winnable games coming up. Also some lose-able games too with Missouri and Vandy, so we need to clean it up.

Alabama has embarrassed three teams that were in the top 10 at game time, yet they lost at home to Ole Miss and almost lost to us.

Does that means Saban can't coach?

Discuss.

Match ups against systems and rosters built for their systems. They dominate against power teams, they are maulers. Spread teams that are in good condition with talent at the skill positions that run at a fast pace that also have D's that can get some stops, will cause them problems. If the opponent has some physicality in the receiver corp all the better since Bama is smaller overall than usual in the secondary.

2 interesting things from Doug Mathews this mornings

Says we are signing 20 guys and only way to go over is blue shirts

And the other isn't going to be popular here. He pretty strongly stated that tkjr has yet to show he is a championship level player. He was pretty down on his performance last night and inferred it's time for him to show he's a guy for the future or perhaps we need to move on.

Just curious, who on our current roster has more picks than tkjr?

Apparently sacking popular franchise QBs is a penalty now.

Orakpo just got a roughing the passer penalty for a standard sack on Brees.

What a joke the NFL is now.

It wasn't Orakpo. It was Bass. It's dumb, but by rule any contact with the QB's helmet is a penalty. Crown of his helmet hit Brees' facemask.

Yep. Same call as in Florida game yesterday. I thought this one was more questionable. Defender went to the side but did get Brees in front of the helmet.

Yet when UGA hits Dobbs on the helmet with a hand, there is no call.

Ok? Doesn't change the fact that with the way the rules are now if you hit the QB's helmet at all you're leaving the door open for a penalty. Officials are inconsistent and bad though. Don't think anyone is saying otherwise.
