So far, it looks like they were city marshalls serving a warrant. Maybe he was behind on child support...

The coroner said Few reached a dead end and was backing into the marshals when they fired and the boy was 'caught in the line of fire' and was killed.

'More likely than not they were shooting into the driver side, and he was on the passenger side,' Mayeux said. 'He was in the line of fire.'

It was not immediately clear what type of warrant the marshals were trying to serve.

The city marshals work for the city courts and serve warrants, carry firearms and have police powers, according to the mayor's office.

As much as I wanna just say F him, I can't. This story brings me as much sadness as all the others. There was probably a good person in there, otherwise he wouldn't have felt such an immense amount of shame about being exposed.

I somewhat agree, but he should have just crashed his car or just capped himself without all of the fabricated drama.

that doesn't mean he was a good person but that he wanted everyone else to think he was a good person. Sad situation for everyone involved.

Yeah, I bet all the people he stole from felt a lot of sadness as well. He wasn't man enough to face the consequences of his actions. He was only "ashamed" because he was going to be exposed. I do feel bad for his family though.

Interesting article on recording the police.

As in the case of Tamir Rice, the 12-year-old boy who was killed in Cleveland last year because someone saw him playing with an Airsoft pellet gun, the officer's hastiness counts in his favor, and the recklessness of his approach does not figure in his legal culpability. These are the sort of breaks you can expect if you have a badge as well as a gun, and they are a pretty strong defense against viral videos

not arguing for this specific case; but our legal system differentiates between pre-meditated murder and manslaughter and the like.

In short: police have to make quick decisions, therefore we can't hold them accountable for their mistakes even if video proves their incompetence.

Sure, they're held accountable. The problem is when government is the final judge of government. Only the truly egregious actions ever get punished.

Nobody is good or bad. We all float somewhere in between, and I think most all people are inherently good, canonizing or demonizing someone based on a single incident doesn't tell the whole story.

Most cases like this one the guy takes $50 to fill his gas tank, with every intention of putting it back on payday, then dips into the honey pot time and again until they're in deeper than they ever could've thought. I'll wager that he was a gambler (no pun)

Absolute horse**** she got away with murdering that man. I await the spin from the usual suspects.

CarlPickens: "Listen, I don't agree with what the cop did, but none of this would have happened if the guy had just obeyed orders. It is really his own fault he got murdered by this officer"
