When is it time to retire?

Planer seemed to be enjoying Brent's mistakes, he's ready to take over and enjoy the cupcake job.

You got some fight for an old guy. :) Phil should have been let go. We handled it poorly, but Phil wasnt generating recruits. Its the circle of life, mustafa. Dont criticize what you cant understand; your sons and your daughters are beyond your command. Your old road is rapidly aging, please get out of the new one if you cant lend your hand. The times they are changing

You are right. I do not understand the lack of respect of seniors and the humor enjoyed at the expense of our HOF coach.

I come from Monterey, Tennessee. I went to a one room schoolhouse. We respected our teacher, Miss Edna Pugh. When I came back home to bury my Uncle, people stopped and removed their hats as we passed.

The times are changing and you can have them, but I am not going anywhere.

Musburger mispronounced Alvin Kamara's last name all night long. They provide a detailed media guide each week which clearly indicates how certain names are to be pronounced.

I could not determine if Musburger was drunk or just getting too old to call games last night. It started early when he said that Zack Preston from MSU gave UK fits with his running abilities. He then mentioned that TN has "DOMINTATED" this series over the last 30years. Throughout the game, he interjected enthusiasm where there was no such need. One example, is when Hurd carried the ball. Brent yelled," Hurd carries and is SHORT!!(he then seem to catch himself and finish the phrase with a more subdue tone) "of the 50 yd line"
He, on several occasions, would interject aforementioned enthusiasm while interrupting Palmer...again for no apparent need.

I've always liked Woody but I found him tough to listen to last night. Did anyone else hear these things? Maybe it was Halloween, maybe he found a Sorority party, ala Tebow and crew, before the game or maybe he is just showing his age. I hope it's not that he has lost the desire to prep and call games.

It is hilarious that someone posted about this. I've been saying the same thing to my friends all weekend. I laughed my butt off when he made the "domintated" comment. At halftime I was convinced he was plastered.

The crazy sounding "Don't touch the dialllllll!" was the one that cracked me up. He sounded like Larry David doing Steinbrenner on Seinfeld.

Never was a big Muss fan, but I remembered thinking the last Vol game he did, he wasn't bad.

But last night...oh, my! For the first time I muted the TV at halftime and listened to the rest of the game on radio.

Really an odd performance last night. He certainly wasn't mailing it in--the enthusiasm, inflection, energy level were all there. Just lots of odd mistakes. Good thing he's in the SEC and not PAC-12. Last night, a dozen Samoan names would've put him in early retirement.

Lol! That's funny.

Too bad Merle Haggard is no longer living. He could take this post and write one hell of a song.

After Kentucky scored a touchdown to draw the score to 38-21, he screamed, "Don't touch that dial just yet!". Like it was 1982. I felt sorry for him after that.

Ouch. I'm an avid Dylan fan. I winced wishing you had honored him with an appropriate citation and had enclosed his lyrics with quotation marks. I view him as a legendary icon who deserves credit each time his music/poetry is referenced in any form or fashion.

Please understand I am not intending to fuss. It's just that this sort of thing when it comes to Dylan is rather near and dear to my heart. Sorry if I offend you. I do admire and commend you for being able to pull those lyrics from your memory with such ease. You, too, must be a fan.

I thought the same exact thing. . .never been a big fan of Musberger but certainly have respected him over the years. He just sounded like he was unprepared and really was redundant many times. Yes, it may be time for him to step down. . ..

Go Vols!
