The only bright side for us with all the injuries this year is we were forced into building depth for 2016.

I will say one negative now though. If this 2016 class finishes like I think it will hurt us in 2017 because we will lose a ton in 2016.

2017 is a while away but it's going to be so weird without Dobbs and Hurd running the offense.

Who will be our two going into 2017? I say JG and Fils-Aime along with PW leading the way.

The closer we get to the game the more nervous I am. I know we're better than Kentucky, but Towles has some real talent throwing the ball and we have not been real great against that -- and of course the better team doesn't always win.

Hope there's no letdown after coming so close against Alabama. There shouldn't be based on what we've seen from Butch Jones's teams, though I worry about an Arkansas situation.

We are just better all over the field. For Kentucky to win, Towles would need to play out of his mind and our offense would need to be the most sluggish it has been all season. And even then I think we will have a huge advantage based on starting field position with Daniel punting and Sutton/Kamara returning punts and Berry returning kicks.

Justin Martin starting opposite Cam also makes me feel better. UK's WRs are pretty good, but those two can shut them down. I just don't see their offense putting up more than 17-21 points, and I definitely don't see their defense stopping our three-pronged running attack. I also think Dobbs will actually have a great day throwing the ball. Stoops will sell out to stop the run and Dobbs will make them pay.

Would love to see Wolf get some accolades. Guy would be All American in a pass happy offense.

And he's a ruthless blocker. U see how he fights for the ball?

Jennings has that switch that the great ones have that they can flip and go into killer mode on the field.

Couldn't agree more. I was skeptical at first, as I always am when a player changes positions, but he is a gamer 100%. Pure athlete. Very excited to watch his career unfold.

Yeah, you're definitely right, I'm just still traumatized from 2011. I thought there was no way we would lose to THAT Kentucky team, and we did. Now, that was Dooley and a completely different situation, but I still have flashbacks :)

I think it's also a function of having a game we just really should win. The last two I felt like we had a shot to win but that we had nothing at all to lose, so I wasn't really nervous. Now that we're playing a team we are better than, I guess the consequences of losing just feel so much more dramatic.

Hopefully Guarantano is Mariota part 2. With Kelley and Fils Aime, Pdub, Jennings, etc and a really good line. I hope we look back on Dobbs like Heath Shuler. Didn't want to see him go but when he did, we got even better. By then the defense will be loaded, Kmac,Tuttle, Phillips, Kirkland, Austin Smith, Warrior. Honestly I can't wait. Just enjoy Hurd while he's here because he's very rare.

I think you could put JJ anywhere and he would dominate. He is a dog on special teams, mean and physical reciever, AA safety talent. How cool would it be if he moved to safety and Cam came back? TKjr, Martin, Gaulden, Cam, JJ in the back, JRM and Kirkland, and our Dline of Barnett, Tuttle, Kmac, and a bunch of good DEs to compliment. That's a Championship D. No more than we use JJ now at reciever, I'd love for JJ to go to safety. I don't know about Gaulden, but I'd expect all those others to be in the NFL one day.

2017 Offense - (off the top of my drunk head)
QB - Dormady, Jones, JG, Johnson
RB - CFA, Kelly, Young and we might have 1 or both of Hurd and Kamara.
WR - Preston Williams, Tee Higgins, Jeff George, Josh Smith (RS SR), Perry, whoever else we sign, and possibly Malone
TE - Wolf, Brooks, Pope, Creamer, Jakob Johnson
OL - Richmond, Jones, Hall, C.Thomas, R.Johnson, Mosley, Sanders, Boulware, Raulerson, Kendrick

Thats a good looking offense to me. Especially if we get 1-3 of Hurd Kamara and Malone back. Most of that lineup will be 3rd and 4th year guys.

Lines of scrimmage are going to be stout in 2017.

OL will possibly be better than the DL, although the DL has the chance to be nasty as well.

LT: Richmond
LG: Robertson
C: Thomas
RG: Jones
RT: Hall

DE: Taylor/Butcher
DT: McKenzie/Vickers/Picou
DT: Tuttle/Johnson/Brown (?)
DE: Phillips/Mixon

NFL potential all over the place on those lines. Will be the best and most seasoned we've had in a long, long time.

Robertson?

Agree. I think there's a culture of cheating within their organization. I heard Tomlin talking about his team always having "technical difficulties" in Foxboro.

No way, man. Those several times they've been caught over many years are literally the only times they've cheated. They absolutely got caught with the only times they've ever done it. Yep, that was it. And they've clearly learned from each one.

I'd be really curious to see what would happen if they didn't release some garbage pre-season poll and ranked the teams according to how the first game went and adjust from there.

Now that you guys have had time to think about it, what's the verdict on the smokey grays?

Me: 👎🏻

The Orange is invisible somehow on them. For that matter the orange stripe on the pants in the normal pants look pink after they swear in them. And frankly the numerals I've grown to dislike.

I'm just an old curmudgeon right now haha.

Did not like when first saw on fashion show. After seeing them in person and on tv I think they are pretty slick. That helmet is great

I think Kelly will be the feature back unless CFA is really special. Which would be a great problem to have.

I think Kamara may still be here in 2017. I don't see him blowing up next year due to Hurd being so difficult to get off the field and I don't think he has the measurables to absolutely wow scouts at the Combine. He's a great RB, of course, but he's a guy who would benefit from having a full year to show off his skills without anyone in front of him.

If someone told me that one of the teams from the tax slayer bowl would be ranked in the top 10 mid way through the season i would have bet the house it was Tennessee.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Hurd come back. If you look at all of the running backs that'll be coming out in that class, Fournette, Chubb, Perine, Dalvin Cook, Royce Freeman, ect., It wouldn't be too outlandish to see him come back for his senior year to jump up the draft boards.
