I get the concept, but personally I think this team needs confidence more than hunger. I think they already have the hunger. I want them to see their hard work start paying off, and a bowl win over a solid team would be a great example of that.

Fair enough. I know it's weird and I don't expect others to agree

Although if this team wins out confidence will be sky high

I also don't want Duke, because there is very little to gain from that matchup. We would be expected to win that game, but Duke would be a very tough matchup for our secondary. Not to mention there is a pretty good chance Coach Cut would coach circles around Butch.

Personally, I think we would score alot of points on them. I have seen parts of their games, but therir schedule hasn't been good. Also, VTech (although in 4 OT's) scored 43 points. But, you are probably correct that there is very little to gain.

True. We'd score a lot of points on about any ACC team, because none of them play a lick of defense (outside of maybe BC or Pitt), but yeah, I don't like our offense in a shootout against theirs. Wouldn't look good no matter how you slice it.

SEC Bowl Game Assignments (in order of most desirable, IMO)-

Playoff Semifinal
Sugar Bowl
CFA Peach Bowl
Outback Bowl
Music City Bowl
Belk Bowl
Liberty Bowl
Citrus Bowl
Taxslayer Bowl
Texas Bowl
Birmingham Bowl
Independence Bowl

Right now, I'd guess we'd be in Belk or Liberty Bowl (somewhere behind Bama, LSU, UGA, FL, & Ole Miss).

However, I see very little chance that the SEC has 12 teams go to a bowl game. Will be a curious last few weeks, as there's a chance that all of Mizzou, S.Carolina, Vandy, Auburn, & even Arkansas & Kentucky miss a bowl.

What happens in that situation?

I would think they would fill in those slots with at-large teams. I'm not sure, however, if they'd fill the best 8 slots with bowl-eligible teams and at-large the rest, or if they'd mix it up.

What happened to the Cotton Bowl?

Local arky radio guys who are close to Gus from his time coaching here in college and and high school are saying he was forced to hire Muschamp and he fought it tooth and nail. Said when he was in town for the arky game he told several of his old coaching buddies that he'll get out before anyone has a chance to think about firing him.

Went on to say that he wouldn't be surprised at all to see Gus move to big 12 or pac 12 at the end of this season.

Could just be small town gossip, but thought it was interesting.

Difference in the two is the follow through. Point your foot towards the goal post will help with accuracy.

Granted Jr has lost some power in the change but that will come over time.

Cotton bowl and Capital One bowl are the two playoff semifinal games this season.

Wait...that almost confused me. Capital One sponsors the Orange Bowl now. The former Capital One bowl played in Orlando is now the Citrus Bowl again. Just to clear up any confusion :hi:
