Super Bowl night when Peyton lost and I wasn't back here until this summer.

Anybody ever had a few beverages during the Super Bowl?

Anybody get a little testy when peyton loses?

Oh wow. Was it that long? Well, I guess it was so fun. And Time flies and all that

:)

Realistically, who do you guys see us or want to see us play in a bowl?

Bruin did.

Because if he doesn't share his opinion with everyone (repeatedly), his heart would explode.

Bruin's not so bad. There have been and are far worse on Volnation. The basketball forum used to be overrun with irritating and condescending posters during the Pearl years. Luckily it is much more civilized there now.

This thread is pretty good by and large, although there are some posters I could do without.

Ideal thing for me.

Win out but get beat by a superior team in a bowl game.

Remember many players and coaches credit the Nebraska bowl game as the reason we won the NC.

If we win out in the regular season losing a bowl game wouldn't really hurt much IMO and would help for reason above IMO

I've seen Duke, NC State and Minnesota in projections. I think we would steam roll all three.

My dream scenario would be us winning out, and Florida and Georgia screwing up just enough to let us sneak into Atlanta, beat LSU there, and then romp Memphis in the Sugar Bowl.

I remember AJ always being a good tackler - just not a good playmaker. First three years he was always bringing down RBs 5-6 yards past the line of scrimmage.

AJ was a beast, but most of his time at UT he had pretty bad tackling form. Always too high. Looked much better early in his SR yr but seemed to regress some as the season progressed. Got the job done but not the best "tackler". IMO

Why not beat a superior opponent

I asked this the other day and didn't get much of a response, in all our losses, how do we fare today if we played them again?

Why not beat a superior opponent

I think a loss in the bowl game leaves a bad taste in the kids/coaches mouths and the off season has a more sense of having to prove soemthing in it. Just like Nebraska did to us

Now that's assuming we win out. If we don't winning a bowl game will be big for a lot of reasons

Jmo and I know it's weird

Texas in the Liberty Bowl or Michigan or Penn State in Citrus or Outback. Those are wants. Not too stoked about an ACC school in MCB or Belk but we would be more likely to win one of those.

Sorry.

I do not want Duke. Would take any other. Losing to Cut would not be good.

Did a Vol fan just say they want us to lose a game??? Because it might make us want to win future games?

I've literally seen it all now.

As far as gameplan versus adjustments I think both were fine but the issue was objective. The objective for this team should always have been to go down swinging. The adjustments were skewed for conservativism and with a few plays or a deeper roster we they could have worked. We got neither partly because the team is young and conservatism on game day leads to apprehension.
