Boro said the QD transferring rumor has legs, but it would likely be after spring (why that long?). Boro was also solidly in the Gruden camp pre-Jones, and he has a pretty loud dislike for the current staff. For what it's worth.

It needs to not be true so this team can actually develop a QB in the system. Most transfers seem to be non-factors, but more QBs would be bad.

Jones will be the guy we develop in the system if qd leaves

First time really seeing a lot of Matt Elam for UK since he is now the starter at NT with the original starter out for the year. All I can say is he is totally useless. He just gets blown up virtually every play.

5* babeeeeee! Still da world champs!

Has a QB ever left a p5 school and had it work out for hi at another school or the NFL? Mallett left Michigan I think, that worked OK, but it's really rare to hear it work out with QBs.

I like Jones' skill set for our offense. Could be interesting in 2017 if that is when the new QB's get their shot. Let the games begin!

Worked pretty well for Russell Wilson

Graduating and moving on is different than quitting before you ever get the starting job. Good point though. Don't think it works out often when a QB leaves because of competition or homesick. Coker, Golson are doing OK I guess, but rarely do you see starting over work well.

The Gruden stuff was true, fell apart at the end.

Read much of Boro's post lately, didn't get the vibe that he didn't care for Butch and company.

I think his source is a current player.

Also, the spring timing makes sense seeing that JG is an early enrollee. I'm sure a pecking order will emerge after spring practice.

He could have thrown a few meaningless passes like QD had done so far

We haven't had a reason to burn a redshirt yet

You never have a "reason" until you have an injury. Then you would want better options than you've had in past years. Or are we pining for that sinking feeling when Worley got injured last year, and we knew Peterman was up? And wouldn't it have sucked to have Dobbs get hurt in meaningless action against Western Carolina? There's a reason you develop backups and squeezing every ounce of eligibility out of a player doesn't necessarily benefit that player. Even "meaningless" experience is experience.

Q transfer doesn't make sense unless he just doesn't feel like he is a scheme fit. I don't want to lose him but I wouldn't exactly freak out since we would have Sherion and JG on campus next year. Then Hunter the following year. Honestly I swear people are just making up rumors at this point. They really come out of nowhere and then all of a sudden you have multiple people who go oh yeah I heard that too. Sounds like a couple buddies getting together and playing a prank on VN to cause a freakout

More often than not transfer or dismissal rumors tend to be true with this coaching staff and team thus far. Hope the stuff about QD isn't true. He can play.

Missing my point... If Dobbs doesn't get hurt them all year, then yes the limited pt will be pointless. It would have been nice to have peterman play those snaps. Any significant injury, and QD could have easily burned the redshirt to play over Nate

Point is Peterman wasn't going to be here...it wouldn't have been nice to have a QB with shot confidence holding a roster spot. Not nice for him or the team. And you don't pull a true freshman off the practice heap and shove him into action cold...if you can help it. They couldn't avoid it Dobbs freshman year but our QB situation is much better now. Redshirting just to be redshirting doesn't serve a purpose. Let your most talented primary backup get some snaps when warranted. Helps his development.
