Looking ahead to next year: The only unit on the team that won't be elite will be the secondary.

I think Jennings moves to safety to help out TK Jr. We desperately need Osborne to be ready to play day one across from Martin.

But outside of that, the team is going to be stacked. 6 deep at DT (KMack/Tuttle/O'Brien/Vickers/Johnson/Picou), 7 deep at DE (Barnett/Vereen/Phillips/Taylor/Mixon/Lewis/Butcher). OL will be vastly improved with Jones and Hall having a year of experience. RBs will be elite. WRs will be elite and experienced across the board (will be the Malone, Smith, and Williams show). LBs will be elite if JRM stays.

Return teams will still be elite with Berry returning kickoffs and Kamara returning punts.

10-12 regular season wins are possible next year. All of the close losses from this year would have been wins with next year's roster.

Slow down on the LBs.

I guess CBJ is a Debbie Downer then. After the Bama loss, he espoused the very thoughts that get posters slammed on VN:

"This was not a moral victory. There are no moral victories at Tennessee."

"We do not celebrate losses. We want to win."

"There are no good losses. Our players expect to win."

So not everybody is celebrating the L.

Sir, you have a distinct inability to differentiate between not celebrating a loss and appreciating the improvement seen on the field.

I could see JRM and Cam both staying. They have a chance to finally be on a championship contending team.

Next year is going to be fun and they know it.

Wouldn't blame them if they saw it different though. But there's a great season waiting on them here if they stay.

Dang. I thought it was an elbow. I guess he'll get the 6 Million Dollar Man treatment over the next few months.

Pray for injury-free weeks to come.

Somebody check on Walken...gotta be a rough one. :cray:

Very unlikely that Sutton stays. Marquill Osborne or Desmond Henderson will help opposite Justin Martin. Still need someone who can generate pass rush opposite of Barnett. Hopefully Vereen or Phillips can be that guy.

Jennings will help in depth at Safety and very possible that he could start. Nigel Warrior could also start as a Freshman.

Abernathy looks like a CB that could ascend. Also Foreman at the nickel with Gaulden outside could happen. Foreman quietly played his best game in Orange. He took the slot guy they've been using on third downs away completely. Don't think he had one catch. :)

Sounds like an awful idea to me.

I'd rather develop the lineman, younger receivers, and running backs than cater to a jacked-up kicker. He's just not right and a clean slate next year may do him wonders. If anything put a different kicker in the game and see what he can do.

Going by Butch, he's not giving up on Medley at all. All the positions you mentioned will definitely play against N. Texas to develop. But it's not much of a game to develop because N. Texas is the worst team in the country right now. One of them. He had a clean slate coming in this year to be much better and obviously he isn't. It's the one gimme game left for him to maybe kick all game out of his slump. Of course it won't happen like that. Was being kinda facetious. Just want the kid to get out his mental slump. He's got the leg to win us games. Like he should have already this season.

Justin Martin may be gone after next year. He's got first rounder written all over him. He's the prototype athletically for the position. I'm very excited about him moving forward. I think personally had we played him versus Oklahoma and Florida those games would be wins. He's got big play potential. When a team like Bama starts throwing a lot of back shoulder passes that means they aren't confident in the WRs getting open with traditional route tree routes. Our coaches could take a note from them and use our big WRs similar.

He reminds me of Carlton Davis from Auburn.

From my brief stint kicking, I was always told to point the plant foot toward the uprights. That's like 101 stuff right? Is that a soft rule or is Medley just really off on his technique?

Fuad Reviz mentioned that Medley's mechanics have been off since the Arkansas game. Said he was leaning into his kicks and not trusting his leg.
