DE1....how do the negative stories that are flying around right now affect these kids being recruited?

Well just recently heard about this with a few kids. In talking to 2 highly ranked kids 1 2016 and the other a top 2017 kid they've heard it and said it makes them wonder. I've talked to players inside the program and they said they kinda feel it was a mistake coming to UT when their talents aren't being utilized properly and they could be starting and playing for top ranked power 5 schools. All I can say is that the incident is very real and the thing that happened was during preseason. Butch was talking foul to Crowder and he told him if he ever talked to him that way again he'd kick CBJ arse. I've heard from both of the kids listed above and various recruiters are using the turmoil at UT against them in recruiting. Also there's a story of CBJ belittling Azzani and then some kind of exchange going on after the Arkansas game. The word is CBJ told Azzani get this s#*t fixed or you're gonna be fired in front of the WR core. I know CBJ can be a hot head but Azzani is supposed to be his right hand man, and I find it hard to believe.

That stinks. I have not spoken with anyone about recruiting in 5 weeks or so but last i was told he was really loving Tennessee. Ill be in knoxville this weekend and hopefully find out some info with some recruits. I really curious about the Davis and Corley kids as well.

yeah it stinks but a kid goes to school with hopes of getting to the NFL. Alabama has put a plethora of dbs in the NFL since Saban arrived. So I can honestly say I'd love to have him and I think his visit went well here but at this point and the place where UT is right now its hard to even think that we could over come the prestige and stage that Alabama sits on right now.

Are you saying the punch, scuffle, whatever happened or just a verbal exchange? Referring to Crowder

Of course all of this changes with perhaps a win vs Georgia and a competitive game vs Alabama. Glad that CBJ is putting Azz on the hot seat. You say he is a problem but then you are saying CBJ is wrong to put the pressure on AZZ. I don't understand what you want him to do. All I want him to do is win and a coach and player having words in practice is not unusual.

i heard it was no punch at all but came very close after Crowder made the comments. They definitely had to be separated.

As a parent I teach my son to stick up for himself. I am teaching him to not talk down to or belittle people and be respectful. I also teach him if he is being disrespected to handle his business. There is also a time and place to do these things. I don't blame Crowder for standing up for himself but it would have been better if he had a discussion privately with Jones. Just my 2 cents.

If your son was loafing and got his ass jumped by the Head Coach, you think it's ok for him to talk back to Head Coach?? "Handle his business???" This is one of the dumbest posts I have EVER seen and If you are teaching your son this mindset, you're in for a LONG road my friend. Getting called out and getting chewed out by the Coach if you're dragging ass is how IT SUPPOSED TO BE. Probably got 7th place ribbons too, huh. SMMFH If we even mumbled something, we got jacked the F up. "GROWN KIDS" these days....whatever. Better save that 2 cents...you're gonna need it.

Nigel Warrior, DB, Peachtree Ridge, Ga. (undecided) — “I say it’s going to be whichever team comes out the hardest, also, both teams need to come out and redeem themselves after the loss they both had this past weekend. So whichever team comes out the hardest and maintains momentum before the half is over, I think is going to win. I think it’s going to be Tennessee.”

Butchna, I saw in another thread that you owned your own business, do you mind if I ask what you do?

Looks like Nigel and DeAngelo Gibbs want to be Vols. Hopefully we win Saturday to validate their faith.

I definitely should have proof read my previous post because it didn't exactly come out the way I meant it. Hey but thank for not being an azz about it and ranting about some BS 7th place ribbon crap.

No, I am not saying it is okay to talk back to a coach I didn't say that at all. I said he should have had a private discussion if he felt he was wronged.

I have played football, baseball, and basketball growing up. I took my share ass chewings by coaches. That stuff happens every where but I have had some great coaches and I have had some really ****ty coaches that had no business coaching.

I have also coached and helped coach (mostly baseball) while my son played sports and loved every minute of it with the teams I have worked with. We got onto the kids but every kid is different and you got to know how to reach them to bring the best out in them. Watched a lot of kids do well.

I agree with you about kids but these aren't kids. This is a sec senior offensive lineman who should have enough respect for his coach to keep his mouth shut. I am 23 years old and my generation is a bunch of whiny snobby babies. I miss the days when a guy would get benched and work his a$$ off to get back on the field and help his team. Now kids just pout and transfer.

He'll keep returning kicks. He doesn't have the instincts to play safety at a high level. He looked real bad in the bowling green game.

He wasn't bad in the BG game. Probably wasn't used to CBs getting killed so early in the routes. Also he helped stop a lot of the plays the second half by rolling down on the motion man. I'd love to see him used in some nickel packages or some on offense(Orange Venom called for him to be a RB when he was recruited).
