I now understand why DonYates is such a ban-happy tyrant over there; he's completely out of his mind. Here is a post he made about the discussed lack of Vandy fans at the MTSU game Saturday:

The link I posted at the top of the page is not for VU's allotment. It's MTSU's regular tix. I think a lot of Vandy fans have purchased tix through that link. A lot of the regular MTSU fans/students will also likely be rooting for Vandy this week. There are tons of Vandy fans in Murfreesboro. That's Vandy country. The talking heads always want to question Vandy's attendance. The fact is they do fine for a very small private school. They ought to be questioning why MT is allowed to stay in the FBS with their very low turnouts. They practically give tickets away and still have no one at games.

Having spent a lot of time in Murfressboro the past decade or so, I can say without a doubt he's full of crap. I've hardly ever seen any evidence of any abundance of Vandy fans in Murfreesboro.

I can verify. Born and raised in Mufreesboro, spent 20 years there, still go back often. There are more Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, and Georgia, and MTSU fans in Mufreesboro than there are Vanderbilt fans. Hell, Nashville itself isn't even truly Vandy country.

Murfreesboro is bandwagon city. I started MTSU in 2007 and saw a lot of UT and UF gear. By the time I graduated it was all Alabama gear.

I went to the regional finals of the Scripps spelling bee in 7th and 8th grade many moons ago (was in Knoxville, but had people form KY, both carolinas, even WV) and I can remember very well all of us getting trounced by a home schooled kid who was about 8 or 9 years old whose name, despite all of us literally being the best spellers in the area, hardly any of us could pronounce or spell.

I later found out many years later the kid went to Vandy out of high school. So, your statement is 100% accurate.

So disappointed in MTSU for not being able to put Vandy away.

Also what a terrible crowd. Yeah I get the weather wasn't great but did they even have 20K there? And what about Murfreesboro being "Vandy Country"? There couldn't have been 2K Vandy fans there.
