Think of it like this.

Ever had a guy at work (or class) who is just a douche? Thinks he's better than everyone else but rarely actually shows it? Maybe even is in his work position because it was handed to him instead of earning it? So, when they aren't around, or oftentimes even when they are, you make fun of them?

That's Vandy.

I think that's the best explanation I've heard. The weird thing is I live in Nashville and don't hear anyone ever talking trash - but I'm a UK fan and not a UT fan so maybe that's why.

They are only kind of a rival. In basketball, yeah they are one, but football not so much. But it's also a build up, at least for me, of 30 years of listening to Vandy fans. Make no mistake, they used to be more numerous and much louder, even though they still sucked.

Also, part of it is I'm making fun of their site because DonYates bans anyone who isn't a Vandy fan except for a very few token fans who almost have to kiss his behind to stay there.

Well I don't know who that is but the first part of what you said makes sense - I just don't know anyone associated with Vandy who is in to sports at all (except a buddy of him who works in the athletic dept) and he's not a trash talker - in fact he said most of the staff hated JF while he was there and the believe he left Vandy because he knew 2 years ago they would suck so he had to leave.

They had good teams while we happened to have some of our worst and they took advantage. UK fans don't trash WKU because things have normalized - they're back to doing whatever they do and we have our own thing going on.

Punching down is just a bad look is all I'm saying. Carry on as I'm sure you will but nothing looks more desperate.

Mason is 104.5 in Nashville and is discussing the game vs Middle. He said they'll play anyone, anywhere, anytime if someone wants to play them cause this program is trending up. Yeah coach, 9-4 to 3-9 to 1-11. Keep trending up.
