Not that UT fans need to hear this, since we're living it, but Jones' reputation nationally has taken a huge hit this month:

1. Butch Jones is in trouble. Understand what I mean by this after Tennessee blew another late lead, lost another game it controlled and fell once again to Florida (make it 11 straight losses and counting). I'm not saying Jones will or should be fired after this year. But is Jones in trouble? Yes. He may continue to point to strong recruiting classes on signing day and preach about next year. The problem is Tennessee fans don't want to hear it when Jones' teams inexplicably blow leads. That's two losses this month that were games Tennessee should have won. Florida's Jim McElwain out-coached Jones and won a game even the Gators' coach said his team didn't deserve.

Hard to believe how much has changed since this article came out on Sept. 10th, but two enormous debacles will do that:

The garbage that was coming out in support of Butch before the season was way premature.

Similarly, the decision to give Butch a raise this past off season was about as short-sighted a decision as you'll ever see.

Exactly. Which means people bought into hype, not results.

Barring wins over Georgia and Bama, I say this is his final stand

He could easily lose to Missouri and we play Kentucky in Lexington

This could go south very fast for our Band Leader

A pattern has been made clear and even those with the most orange colored glasses can't deny it so the trouble is real. He needs to shake up the staff and make some changes. That's our only hope right now.

Hes going to start losing recruits in a hurry. Recievers should transfer since they arent being utilized and have no chance at their NFL dreams. Could get real ugly, real quick.

If they lose to UGA and Bama, but go 8-4, what say you?

Butch is a great hype master.

Jones should have never received an extension - I guess this was an over reaction to the Michigan vacancy .... there is no way on this planet he gets the Michigan job if harbaugh does not take. The administration does not know how to manage staff like jones does not manage a game clock

"Next up in the batter's box........Watson Brown" LOL

I know.....why don't we go ahead and start planning for the 3 year coaching rotation now. Send in your list for the next 3 prospects.

Out the door

Thank you. So, just to affirm your stance, if they go said 8-4 and win a "quality" bowl game to finish 9-4, you want Coach Butch Jones fired?

5-7
7-6
9-4

This would not be enough to keep CBJ?

I'm asking because you seem to be one of the veteran posters here whom I also see as one of the "leaders" of the let's-can-CBJ-movement. I value your opinion.

We will not return to "prominence" until we go and get a prominent coach.

A prominent coach wouldn't touch the job with the proverbial 10 foot pole if the administration is gullible enough to fall for the torch and pitchfork routine of VN. After all, that is what started this 8 year old fiasco.

Maybe it was a bad decision to not go for 2. I agree.

I would like to understand what happened on 5 fourth down plays that netted Florida 123 yards and 1 touchdown. I was at the game and that 63 yard TD looked like a total breakdown of the DB's.

But one other thing that is obvious to me is this: Dobbs is not an accurate passer. I think the staff knows this and are reluctant to let him throw.
