An interesting question is how much of the heavy lifting of negotiation is accomplished during these visits, and how much is worked out beforehand.

I figure Ukraine and Syria are probably going to be same ole', same ole' for a while to come, so I don't expect much there. I would, however, like to see us put much more pressure on China concerning its unfair business practices that put American companies at a disadvantage at China's gain. If China is truly wanting to be a big boy now who wears big boy pants and sits at the adult table, then it needs to start acting like it instead of simply using an aggressive tone and stance in the South and East China Seas. It's high past time they start operating their economy like the rest of the developed world.

talking points only, imo. both will have things they want to say on various issues that likely don't influence whatever "deals/understandings" we actually get out of it.

If you're asking me directly, I don't have a twitter account. Well, actually, I think I do, but I only tweeted like once or twice before deciding Twitter wasn't for me. I don't even remember my account name or password anymore.

Sounds like the CIA has spotted your subversive practices here on VolNation and elsewhere.

The conclusion hearkens back to the question I posited a week or two ago about whether or not the Russian people would even truly give enough of a damn if they were ever allowed to find out how Putin's been lying to them about Russian troop involvement/deaths in Ukraine (and I'm sure Syria soon as well). Kind of like what the author alludes to at the end, I get the impression that Russians know what a complete piece of garbage Putin is; they just don't really care though, because he's their complete piece of garbage.

Sort of like how UT fans knew what a piece of trash Kiffin was at the time, but, by god, he was our piece of trash.
