Well there is zero debating he is NCAA eligible.
Also if Tenn is going to get where it needs to be CBJs needs to be able to get 100% of the kids that are NCAA eligible into school. It's been a few years since we have heard about that being an issue
The Sooners were held to a single field goal in their first six possessions against Akron on Saturday, a slower-than-expected start for Oklahoma's heralded ''Air Raid'' offense under new coordinator Lincoln Riley....Stoops is chalking up the early issues to penalties. Three of those six drives included a penalty - two false starts and one holding call - and there were two other penalties on early punt returns by the Sooners.
Somewhat lost in the excitement over Mayfield's performance was Oklahoma's ineffective showing on the ground. The Sooners rushed for only 100 yards against Akron - their lowest single-game production since 2012.
Stoops downplayed the significance of the game-day environment at Neyland Stadium, noting the Sooners have visited traditional powers such as Notre Dame and Florida State in recent years.
''I have a hard time understanding these questions about going to a stadium,'' Stoops said. "...Like I said, we'll put the music up for every away game we'll play this year. So we don't do anything different for this game than we do for the others.''
If he could've he would've... Point serve match. :yess:
Seriously....??
We cut him loose and he eventually qualified. That is why he is upset.
Now could he have made it into our school?
We don't know because he still had a Semester left in high school to improve his scores when we parted ways. How much did he improve??
Maybe he would have made it and maybe not. The staff decided either he wasn't worth the risk, the risk was to high, or he wasn't good enough to fill a very crowded class.
Either way the kid has a little extra motivation for this week. And as I have said it won't matter once the game starts but it is news worthy
Bruin, your point has been made numerous times...you don't have to continue. Let it go. Barnett, Maggitt, and our other DEs will make sure his visit to Neyland is memorable, but they will be bad memories.

Since we're discussing "unconfirmed info", do we KNOW that he's harnessing a personal grudge? Or is this manufactured drama by the usual dramatic suspects? Not saying this of you Bruin, even tho I've read your contributions the last three years. :wink2:

Just another away game to him, apparently. WE ARE TENNESSEE! We need Neyland rocking on Saturday!
Stoops should know better than to give the crowd even more incentive to get wild. The last time he was in Neyland Stadium was the 1998 Florida game. I'm sure he remembers the crowd affecting that one.
The largest road crowd Oklahoma football has ever dealt with was 88k in The Horseshoe in 1977.lol:
