Well there is zero debating he is NCAA eligible.

Also if Tenn is going to get where it needs to be CBJs needs to be able to get 100% of the kids that are NCAA eligible into school. It's been a few years since we have heard about that being an issue

You're assuming all schools have the same enrollment standards. That's not true. Ask any Wisconsin fans.

The Sooners were held to a single field goal in their first six possessions against Akron on Saturday, a slower-than-expected start for Oklahoma's heralded ''Air Raid'' offense under new coordinator Lincoln Riley....Stoops is chalking up the early issues to penalties. Three of those six drives included a penalty - two false starts and one holding call - and there were two other penalties on early punt returns by the Sooners.

Somewhat lost in the excitement over Mayfield's performance was Oklahoma's ineffective showing on the ground. The Sooners rushed for only 100 yards against Akron - their lowest single-game production since 2012.

Stoops downplayed the significance of the game-day environment at Neyland Stadium, noting the Sooners have visited traditional powers such as Notre Dame and Florida State in recent years.

''I have a hard time understanding these questions about going to a stadium,'' Stoops said. "...Like I said, we'll put the music up for every away game we'll play this year. So we don't do anything different for this game than we do for the others.''

Just another away game to him, apparently. WE ARE TENNESSEE! We need Neyland rocking on Saturday!

If he could've he would've... Point serve match. :yess:

Seriously....??

We cut him loose and he eventually qualified. That is why he is upset.

Now could he have made it into our school?

We don't know because he still had a Semester left in high school to improve his scores when we parted ways. How much did he improve??

Maybe he would have made it and maybe not. The staff decided either he wasn't worth the risk, the risk was to high, or he wasn't good enough to fill a very crowded class.

Either way the kid has a little extra motivation for this week. And as I have said it won't matter once the game starts but it is news worthy

Bruin, your point has been made numerous times...you don't have to continue. Let it go. Barnett, Maggitt, and our other DEs will make sure his visit to Neyland is memorable, but they will be bad memories.

Don't try, Babyavi

Bruin just reads your post as:

Bruin, your point, numerous times, have to continue. Go. Make sure memorable.

The thing is...you don't know if any of that is true or not. You're just rampantly speculating.

We don't know why he's mad. I seriously doubt that we'd have just cut loose a good prospect at such an important spot.

Maybe we offered him a blue shirt and he felt insulted, maybe he was told to meet certain academic requirements and failed to do so, or maybe he just flat out was not going to be able to make it in at Tennessee. We don't know. Stop acting like you do.

I think we can stuff the OK run. It will be weird to see a P5 school trying to beat us in the passing game vs the other way around. How much can our secondary improve? I certainly see us doing better than we did with BGSU but still getting gashed.

Done deal!

Moving on.

I know we want a solid pass rush but IMO stopping the run is more important than the pass rush since IMO the passing game will be a quick one like BG.

If the ball is out very quickly then that rush will be nuetralized.

Since we're discussing "unconfirmed info", do we KNOW that he's harnessing a personal grudge? Or is this manufactured drama by the usual dramatic suspects? Not saying this of you Bruin, even tho I've read your contributions the last three years. :wink2:

Bottom line? We needed/need OL BAD...we beat out an impressive number of big schools to get his commit. Everything was set up and he WOULD'VE played for us LAST YEAR... no doubt. We heard constant rumblings from subscription insiders that there were "things he needed to do in the classroom". When our class is completed, he's not in it. It doesn't take a doctorate to connect the dots and not stab YOUR OWN EYE in the process.

P.S. If he's mad, I don't give a crap...he's a mad Sooner. :cray:

Stoops should know better than to give the crowd even more incentive to get wild. The last time he was in Neyland Stadium was the 1998 Florida game. I'm sure he remembers the crowd affecting that one.

The largest road crowd Oklahoma football has ever dealt with was 88k in The Horseshoe in 1977. :eek:lol:

How big was A&M before the recent update?

Is there a stat that shows total number of defensive snaps played for each player? Specifically, I'm looking for total plays by Jumper/Kirkland. Also, did Kirkland make all 3 of his tackles at MLB or were some on special teams?

Seems like the coaches could figure out some way to get the communication issue worked out in order to get Kirkland on the field over jumper
