He is already recruited and signed and in uniform so why didnt you ask a mod to close this thread if it bothers your big ego so much ?

Apologies if I came off like an ass because I've been subjected to too much craziness in the football forum lately with the negativity and criticism after a freaking blow out win. Just parts of your post really don't make sense because of the transfer rules. Also you have to remember that generally Oline is frequently redshirted to develop, rare to have talent like Tunsil that gets on the field from day one in the SEC. Richmond will likely see some action this year but even if he doesn't I think he is going to see a lot of snaps and be a great player.

Eh, that still doesn't mean that he would have made it in at UT or that we pulled his offer to let in another player like you're implying.

Well there is zero debating he is NCAA eligible.

Also if Tenn is going to get where it needs to be CBJs needs to be able to get 100% of the kids that are NCAA eligible into school. It's been a few years since we have heard about that being an issue

Ok Thanks for your info -- I guess i got a little carried away worrying that DR might not be happy about things - :good!:

Oklahoma has lower entry requirements than any of the Texas schools...if your kid can't make it into a Texas school, generally they still easily qualify at ou...

I have seen that.

I would be willing to bet that a majority of the top 25 programs can get any kid into school that is NCAA eligible. Most schools get a number of waivers of admission to get athletes into school that are below the normal student guidelines

The power of CBJ has likely given us that ability IMO

Lol, I just had one too many trips to threads complaining about the offense after we put up around 400 yards rushing and a nice day passing without any turnovers.

Eventually he will. Doubt that he does now.
Most likely didn't have it in time to get Orlando in or it would have happened. The staff was very high on him as an OL prospect.

Cheek is still a thorn in the nose of The University of Tennessee :)

Hopefully cheek sees those $ rolling in at record pace and realizes the importance of a strong Fb program

They can't always get them in. That is what is going on with a kid that signed with Texas that is trying to get out of his LOI and go to OU. He can't get into Texas because of a foreign language requirement, but he can get into OU. Texas isn't budging, though I bet they would allow to transfer to a different school they don't play.

From everything I read they had already talked to Brown and were placing him in a JUCO, but OU swooped in on signing day and told him they could get him in.

Well yes he did. If he didn't he wouldn't be eligible at Oklahoma

I would guess he thinks we used his grades as an excuse to make room for another recruit. A mistake no doubt at this point by the staff but you can win them all for sure.

We ended up with Jashon Robertson...I'm cool widit.

Yes if it was an either or we did GUD!

But he blue shirted iirc

I don't think you are...recalling correctly. :). If you are maybe Sawyers was the one that got that spot. :yuck: It's all academic anyway (pun intended). Brown didn't qualify, so you're crying over SPOILED not spilled milk.

See edit.

He did qualify and that's his beef.

Now could he have gotten into Tenn we will likely never know and the kid likely doesn't either but regardless the kid has a legit beef heading into the weekend. Will that motivation mean anything once kickoff gets here?? No it won't.

Not with the booger picker and such still in charge.

He didn't QUALIFY to get into Tennessee. That's on him. Sawyers ended up being one of the dumbest humans in existence, and he managed. :salute:

That's a fair point and something I've wondered about. It was reported by media that he didn't have the grades, but got into OU with minimal clearinghouse issues. There was a glaring need for us and OL needed in that class. That entire situation was a unique one for sure. It's definitely possible we passed on him, but I'm not sure why in the world we would have. Mike Sawyers? Who knows.

Getting into OU doesn't mean he'd get into UT. There have been others who couldn't get into schools that went to OU and got in.
