Saulsberry not available. he is helping coach but will not play.

Mac was winded after two plays Saturday. Don't be surprised if he is used very little this season. Hard to get into game shape in 6 weeks and he is not there, not close.

so we have 4 DTs that can be counted on this week..

From Larry in the football forum. First I have hear of Mckenzie being used very little this season

I expect #1 to play in the Georgia, Arkansas, and Alabama games. He and Tuttle will be needed. They will test our interior.

I expect us to win against ranked teams but don't think losing to them means we aren't on a hell of a rise.

We have plenty of chances this year

I just don't think using Saturday as a measuring stick is appropriate. Losing wouldnt mean it's time to question our staff

Of course it's a measuring stick. Every game counts-- W or L.

I don't see anybody questioning our staff, and IDT CBJ is, will be or should be on the hot seat, W or L. Nobody's saying anything like that. But you can't cherrypick which games count and which don't. If we beat Okla, shouldn't CBJ get credit for that? Sure, he should.

I'm trying not to worry too much about our passing defense vs. Oklahoma. It was a bad day in that regard Saturday and there's no sugar-coating it. I do think having Kelly and Martinez back will make a big difference. As to comparing Oklahoma to Bowling Green, OK likely does have the better athletes, although recent years as a Vol fan have taught me to be wary of program bias in this regard. BG, however, definitely has a HUGE edge in experience at QB and OL, and those seem to be the two areas on the football field where things like experience and cohesion seem to matter most.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see a real shoot out that possibly is decided in OT.

There was a post that said we should begin to question he staff if we lose Saturday.

That post was why I was stating the measuring stick thing

We have to take advantage of Oklahoma being in a brand new system, with a brand new QB, in a hostile environment. Neyland needs to be rocking. The defense needs to create some turnovers. Foreman & Sutton almost had picks against Bowling Green. They need to get those against OU. Todd Kelly playing the whole game will make a huge difference.

And having Martinez back. Don't think there is any coincidence that when we was out, the secondary suffered a bit.

The OU qb Mayfield is not as good as Bee Gees' Matt Johnson -Stayin Allve after Barnett gets ahold of him is gonna be a problem.

That crowd in Neyland Is gonna be sick! Talk
about Saturday Night Fever.

Y'all need to man up and be More Than A Woman with all this pessimistic outlook

How Deep Is Your Love for the big orange, Volnation?!

Oklahoma is gonna feel like they're back on Broadway with the show we're gonna put on.

And that is music to my ears!!!

I predict that the defense will look much better and the offense not as good as last week. It will be lower scoring than expected. I'm still confident we can get our revenge.

Is OU a significantly better team than ASU?

Unranked A&M blew out #15 ASU at a neutral site. I don't think A&M is more talented than us.

@TheDannyParker: #Vols @UTCoachJones says frosh LB Darrin Kirkland Jr. has ability to be a very, very good football player. Needs to work on communication.

Bet that means jumper gets the correct calls made and likely starts again. Jmo

Wonder if JRM can help here. He knows the calls and could help ease Kirkland in. I mean from the snaps I saw of him he's just too talented to leave on the bench.

One of the coaches talked about this. Said JRM may be split out wide and not able to do it. They said it's core to MLB.

I heard a national radio show talk about A&M today, and I thought about our game next year against them. There will be serious talent all over the field, and we will be playing against Chief.

I actually think the A&M/ASU game is a good proxy for how I expect the game to go Saturday. It'll be a close competitive game for 3 qtrs. However, I think we pull away in the 4th.

So our 3rd down conversion rate will improve

Couldn't resist. It's a joke, I like Chief.

I actually like A&M to win the West next year and us to win the East. That game might be a showdown reminiscent of the 2011 Alabama/LSU game when something like 40 players who played that game ended up being drafted.

There will definitely be alot of NFL talent on the field that day.

Unfortunately there are people with very unrealistic expectations. The only way anyone should question this staff after this game is if we are not competitive and get blown out. If it's a full out awesome back and forth game where jone team makes one more play than the other then there is nothing to be ashamed of if we lose or to question the rest of the season. Oklahoma is a very good teAm. I think we win but I'm not going to freak out if we lose a nail biter

I think they are intimidated simply because Stoops and his players keep bringing up stadium noise and saying it's not a factor.

There isn't a stadium in the Big 12 that comes close to Neyland when it's rocking.

They hate us cause they ain't us.
