The same respected media guy who picked OU as a playoff team picked UT to win the SECE. Just sayin.

Exactly which is why this is a toss up game.

Did anyone really think last year at this time we would be a pick em vs a play off caliber team??

If they did they were very very optimistic

Again huge props to cbj getting here but Saturday doesn't hold the cards for his future like some suggest.

It's gonna be a hell of a game Saturday night. Cam will lock down half the field, think we ride our running game to victory. Will be close to the end.

I think we are evenly matched with OU, who could very well win the Big 12. I don't think that's a negative thing at all - that should be cause for celebration and a testament to CBJ's hard work in just two plus seasons. I think Saturday will be a 4 quarter, nail biting slug fest that will come down to the final couple of plays. Not sure who will win, but it will definitely show the world we are back and you can no longer overlook Tennessee. Cannot wait!

If you give CBJ huge props for getting here, then his stock is going to take a hit if he loses. IDT it will impact anything but CBJ's record against ranked teams, but responsibility for an outcome works both ways.

And yes, with weapons from two Top 5 recruiting classes in our arsenal, I 100% expected to play and beat ranked teams in Year 3. I still do... though Okla is not one of them.

I expect us to win against ranked teams but don't think losing to them means we aren't on a hell of a rise.

We have plenty of chances this year

I just don't think using Saturday as a measuring stick is appropriate. Losing wouldnt mean it's time to question our staff

We have to take advantage of Oklahoma being in a brand new system, with a brand new QB, in a hostile environment. Neyland needs to be rocking. The defense needs to create some turnovers. Foreman & Sutton almost had picks against Bowling Green. They need to get those against OU. Todd Kelly playing the whole game will make a huge difference.

Isn't it nice to be dangerous in the return game again? Nice to have moved on from the Devrin Youngs.

I was just looking at the the defensive stats. Colton Jumper only had 2 tackles (1 solo and 1 assist.) That's totally unacceptable for your MLB. Kirkland had 3 with a sack in very limited action. The coaches need to do everything they can to get Kirkland up to speed and on the field fast.

I'm here... Some of you act like I hate Coleman Thomas. I said that I believed Mack to be the best center on the team.

Here are some of my post game thoughts. Coleman Thomas did great. No bad snaps. Awesome on the plays where he pulls. Gets to second level quick from the Cemter position. He had key diving blocks on at least two of Hurds TD's. I'm not sure Crowder would have positioned himself to make those same blocks. As long as Coleman doesn't botch any snaps, then he's an upgrade over Mack.

My main concern is that there could be a trade off. Better snapping with Mack, but better blocking from CT. If we're in a close game, pinned down deep, then a bad snap will be the difference in a win and a loss.

Overall I was impressed with the OL. Kerb Stomper played great along with Coleman. Kendrick could improve his run blocking, but was great in pass pro. He was intentionally left one on one in many pass plays. On some plays he lined up as a TE next to Kerbyson.

Mack did play left Guard for a series, I think in the 2Q. He did well with the few plays he got. Not sure if that was by design or if Jashon had injury/equipment issues. Either way, it shows me he is the 6th lineman should we suffer an injury.

Does this make up for all the hoopla last week?

Nah still on probabtion

Barnett and Maggitt will have much better games this time around.

I think Kyle Phillips will see more playing time as well.

After rewatching the defensive snaps, I'd say Vereen and Mixon were by far our most effective DE group. I was really surprised by how little impact Barnett and Maggitt had. They definitely need to step it up.

We are perfectly capable of beating Oklahoma and actually destroying them. I don't understand all the negativity.

Agree 100%. Are folks around here blind?

The team I saw play yesterday was more athletic, more explosive, and stronger than last year. Dobbs took his game up another level. Hurd and Kamara look beastly. Jauan Jennings looks like a superstar.

Oklahoma is a tough opponent. But Saturday has been EXTREMELY CONFIDENT. We are a great football team. If you beat us, it will be cause you are playoff material.

Why all the bickering amongst ourselves?

This is what we've wanted for years... to actually go into a big game like this with real hopes to win. We are no longer hoping to just get past these games healthy.

We are going to win.

I know it's been rough for a long time but those days are behind us.

Go Big Damn Orange

Didn't they play later though? BG was tired out by the fourth. We had depth on the defense front they just couldn't match.

Thanks, love these kinds of posts.

Praise for Weisman in those few plays, any football people have an opinion of his performance as a whole? There was a lot of mudslinging about his presumed hissy fit that got him a starting spot he supposedly didn't deserve.

He was our 6-man as a freshman two years ago for good reason. He is certainly good enough to play and made some plays on pulls yesterday that showed that.

There probably isn't a whole lot of difference physically between him and Jones at the moment. The difference between them is that Jones has a higher ceiling from an athletic standpoint, but Weisman has much more experience. This is why Weisman is starting.

lots of schools wanted Mixon. The guy can play. He looked good at the end of last yr when he got moved back to DE. He would start at alot of schools.

Agree. Mixon undoubtedly made his presence known from what I saw. Has a good burst and is very athletic. Will help us a lot this year..

I'm just wondering how this game won't be anything other than a high scoring shoot out.

I know BG's QB was good but I feel like our secondary may make Baker Mayfield may look like Brett Favre. It starts with the pass rush & having Martinez back will help but I'm not too optimistic about Saturday.
