Former Vol baseball player, Zach Godley, had another fantastic start for the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight. 6 innings of shutout ball with 6 strikeouts & on the way to being 3-0 to start his MLB career.

I grew up in FL and our town was platted in the middle of a live oak hammock. I miss moss draped oaks more than anything else, asthetically. I'm partial to the Delta, but could never bring myself to live there. It's like stepping back in time.

I'm not from Gallatin, fyi. This is just a temporary stop. Believe me, it's worse in Greenwood, MS. Nothing to do and still racist as ever. Whites live on.one side of the tracks and blacks on.the other. Mississippi Burning movie, the true story, was about Philadelphia, Mississippi. Right down the road, about 30 minutes away. I used to play holdem with a lot of these guys. They told black jokes and I would tell them I didn't want to hear that s@##. Gallatin may not be the best place, but it's a whole lot better than The Delta.

I have lived in a lot of states and the arrogance of people who can't appreciate the beauty in each never ceases to amaze me.

Do Ms and Arky have some crappy places, hell yeah, but so does every state. Every state also has some incredibly beautiful sites.

So you found a couple of pictures of some state country clubs and that's suppose to convince us those are beautiful states? I've been to some rough countries and even they had some nice areas. Mississippi is still a sinkhole.

I understand that every place has their ugly areas but to say the state of Mississippi as a whole is ugly is a lie. People keep referring to the delta area. Yes the delta is part of Mississippi. No the entire state of Mississippi is not like the delta. Also racism exists outside of Mississippi. I spent a good portion of my life in Lenior City, TN. I have seen more racism in that town then in Hattiesburg, MS.
