Mandatory Minimums

Ill give you five bucks and a case of german pils to hoist Che Guevara up there. Lulz.

I always thought the person who talked about Che going on t-shirts was spot on.

"Imagine Che's reaction, being as anti-capitalist as he was, to people selling his image on commercial merchandise."

Something along those lines.

If I go Latin themed, I'll find a good picture of Eva Mendes in an orange bikini.

Can you go read Mercy's link about drug abuse in the military. Then read my comments. And see what I said in context about "I don't have any information to add about the rise of prescription drug abuse in the military. But I will toss in my two cents worth about the alcohol side of things since i do have first hand knowledge on said topic."

And then you tell me you're sorry for avoided the coat hanger while you were in the womb.

I apologize. I didnt read his link. IMO, the context didnt matter diddly squat because you were able to make a judgement about civilian doctors with as much, if not less, info as you were military doctors.

Again, I apologize.

Are we cool now?

I don't ever get upset with you cats..... And a lot of the time my posts are misinterpreted..... I insult out of love

No, you'll be back at it again soon I would imagine.

And FTR, I trust military doctors about as much as I do military lawyers. There's a reason they aren't in private practice raking in six figure salaries.

Yet you believe for instance, if the seller of the drugs and a murderer are both sentenced to prison and serve X amount of time, once they have completed their time, BOTH should be treated as normal civilians. Along with being allowed to vote, along with any other incentives and privileges any normal, economy enhancing law abiding citizen should. (Unless you're a child molester of course).

So the weed smoker or seller can go back to doing what landed him or her (for you feminists lol) in prison, while the murderer will have the same exact rights and can go back to buying guns or partake in any actions that also landed him/her in prison.

If you have access to this cool site they call, "Google" i encourage you to look up the term recidivism and also search the percentages in our beloved country. You're very welcome.

Some of your points make sense, but not many make dollars.

I have no clue what you're saying. I've never said a "weed smoker" or drug dealer should be in prison to begin with. But should they be able to go back to what they were doing before, yes they should be allowed to smoke or sell. But that has nothing to do with restoring rights to prior felons.

Why should a prior felon not have rights?

And just to clarify I believe child molesters should have all of their same rights too. The only exception being their inability to live near schools or work with children.

Yes.

They just are above your level.

It's ok.

That's what it is. I'm just too dumb to understand your "but it's illegal!" argument.

O how I hope that one day I'll be as smart as you, and I'll learn to simply accept any level of government intervention in my life. Because they know what's best for me!

It's pathetic that the best you guys can do is:

"Go job avoiding the coat hanger"

And the classic

"You guys are stupid"
Or "you're special"

It's obvious to everyone that none of you have any points to make. So you result to this. The most pathetic part of it, is you're all 3 over 40. Grow up. Learn to formulate thoughts. Then come back and we may try this discussion again.

Pretty much sums up the entire politics forum.

I'm the wind beneath his wings.

Anyway, interesting article you linked about the military drug abuse. Although IMO, the facts are somewhat skewed in that report as the military has gone to great extents to demonize alcohol use even before the upward trend. And I'm curious if their terminology is what's skewing the data about "binge drinking" so to speak.

The unofficial "policy" was 0-1-3 in the USAF. Zero DUI/Alcohol Related Incidents, one drink per hour, three drinks maximum. Anything more than that and you were considered a lush by the powers that be. So I'm curious if things like that are what made the numbers rise so quickly.

I can't speak to the prescription medication issue.

My whole point was just to dispel the absurdity going on in this thread(mostly coming from two or three people) about the evils of drug use, and the silliness that is our current system in the way we treat drugs, drug users, drug abusers, the hypocrisy and double standard inherent in rules, etc. GG wants us to put drug dealers to death. Just wanted to see if he thought we should put those giving drugs to our soldiers the death penalty as well.

Understand, I was just giving you some inside perspective on one of the articles and the questionable veracity of same. I mean, it's not like the government has ever stretched the facts to fit an agenda.

OB, in all seriousness...
Nobody owes anyone else a justification for why they want to get high. The only justification owed is why it is perfectly okay to ruin my life, and the lives of many others, lock us in a cage for long periods of time, simply because a lot of people think they have the right to dictate what someone does to their own mind. Its ****ing ridiculous and there isn't a single argument based in reason to defend the practice. If I get hooked and try to steal your stupid damned tractor, throw me in jail. If I get all messed up and rape your sister, just shoot me. Whatever you feel is right. I've never done any of these ****ing things so stop lording your ethics over me.

Suffice to say the name evokes strong memories for me. Few things drive me to violence, and that name is one of them.
