Big Charles Mosley will not be dismissed

Google works. This is just one of many studies you can find on the matter. Rather than bashing my post, do some actual research.

Driving Stoned Is Much Safer Than Driving Drunk, Study Finds

I didn't say it's completely safe, but it's LESS dangerous (by far) than drinking and driving. You lose nearly all motor skills needed to drive at .10 BAC.
From personal experience I know that this study is mostly full of ****. My opinion, and I have unfortunately driven drunk and I have driven high.....I was equally incapable of safely operating a vehicle, even though this study wants to suggest differently.....again, only my personal experience to go on.

Yes. You said that if the results show Mosley was guilty, then CBJ is making a bad decision. I'm saying he hasn't made any decision, publicly at least.

I clearly said if the blood work comes back positive, I think it will show jones has made a poor decision here.

You sure you're straight right now?

Wasn't this thread based on cbj comments to the media this week saying he would be handled in house???

No. CBJ hasn't made any public comments that I've heard. This was a reputable poster saying that Mosley would not be dismissed. In the OP he states, "No suspension (games) either at this point." I take that to mean things could change after the coaching staff "gathers the facts."

Thanks. Got you. I thought I saw a tweet from one of the beat guys also but maybe not.

Glad he isn't being dismissed and also hopeful no decision has been made yet on a suspension unless charges have been dropped

From my personal experience, driving high actually makes me concentrate and focus more on the road than if I was just driving sober. And makes me go the speed limit

"Did you even bother to read my post?"

It's clear you haven't mine, which is fine and maybe why we are going round in circles. I'm glad he isn't suspended, but if blood work comes back and they find THC in his system, then I think it is a mistake that jones is not suspending him pending the results. Jmo

Why? Because I think that driving while under the influence should be punished more harshly? Jones has more info on the situation than anyone of us right now, but if there is a positive blood test for anything then I disagree with the course of action at this point.

You're wound up...like a NARC LORD! :scare:

Ha, I'm with you. I just don't agree. I respect the fact that Jones is waiting for the results instead of suspending based on a charge alone. You've got a 375# guy with a bad leg who didn't pass a field sobriety test. They didn't find any drugs or paraphernalia, but rather this mystery "residue" (aka dirt or leaves or dust). And Mosley submitted to the blood test. I just think the coach hasn't made any bad decision yet, when it appears he may just be giving Mosley the benefit of the doubt until all the facts come in.

There is no reason to rush to a decision now but what if this was a game week???

What would you want cbj to do then???

The same thing. This is fortunately a case where nobody was injured and can be a learning experience for everyone involved. I think the coaches should still gather all the information before acting hastily. In a drinking and driving incident, the results would be available immediately, and the coaches could act quicker.

I also hope that everyone on the team is buckled down and focused this season with little time for off the field problems.

Just to make sure I follow you would agree with a suspension if a positive blood test was in evidence but not until that was confirmed??

Ha, well back to the punishment. I think each instance has to be treated on an individual basis. I don't think Mosley is seeing much of the field this year. So, suspended him for a game or 2 would be more for the benefit of fans than an actual punishment. A more appropriate punishment for him, IMO, would be a lot of extra work, aka internal. Either way, if his blood test comes back positive, I think most are in agreement that he should receive a punishment. And I'm sure he will. If it were a starter, then playing time. Make sense?

So many posters keep saying he isn't going to play so why punish him game time??

That's simple it's has to be a show for constistancy.

Can you imagine the lockerroom reaction when one kid is suspended for game time when another isnt for the same crime???

That's how a lockerroom is lost

Doesn't slow your reaction time at all?

Doesn't seem like it to me. I'm used to it tho because I do it a lot, as well as play recreational basketball and softball high. In my opinion from a guy that has smoked weed fairly heavily for about 4 years now, the only bad thing about weed is the cotton mouth and munchies

Or won...check out the Jimmy Johnson story. Compare and contrast how he handled John Roper vs Charles Haley...Michael Irvin vs Curvin Richards...and before "pros vs college" realize that he coached the Canes in the pre-instant access world. He had different standards for his stars...NEVER lost a locker room. And I wouldn't even suggest Butch ever ventures close to that method. He usually errs on the side of extreme discipline...he doesn't immediately jump through that hoop and you freak out instantly? :scare:

Again, that's more for the fans as the players know who is and isn't seeing the field and know what the punishment is like behind the scenes. To keep the locker room from being lost, Jones doesn't have to be consistent. He just has to be fair. The players will see that Mosley is getting punished and also not seeing the field, whether is is publicly declared or not.

Jones has acted swiftly and justly in every case of off-the-field problems that I've noticed in the few years he's been here. I don't understand why there are people doubting him on this one.

I think boys will be boys issues allow for a handling of each on it's own Merritt. The more the serious the issue the more uniform response

Any form of DUI should come with a suspension and other in house punishment and a majority of schools do just that. That way kids know exactly thepenalty for getting behind the wheel impaired .
