Von Pearson Update

I don't think this is true. I think if it is halfway through the season and he is cleared, he will be back on the field. I am assuming he is in classes this fall.

If the season is half-way over by the time he gets clear, then I really hope we don't waste an entire year of eligibility on him. Just RS him unless we are like 5-1. Even then I'm not sure we should blow a year of eligibility since 2016 will be our SEC Title/Playoff run.

Maybe but at that point you don't use a year of eligibility. We would be halfway through the season, he wouldn't have been practicing with the team, he wouldn't have experience in Debo's offense. He could be reinstated but likely wouldn't be a great option to put on the field.

it also looks ridiculous if he cant come back when he hasnt even been arrested or charged with anything at all. 4 months later and no answers either way. That looks bad as well.

Butch just stated in Nashville that there is no update to the status of Pearson or Mosley. Both remain suspended

Apologies to the UPDATE BULLIES but I have a hypothetical to ponder. What if this is a case of a drunken fueled misunderstanding or anything short of actual assault, that spiraled out of the accuser's control. This long gap between accusation and resolution is actually a negotiation between her counsel and authorities where she can bow out without facing charges herself? Handle it in just the right way and Pearson as well as UT are satisfied with the whole fubar just dying out. Couldn't rush this because every i needs to be dotted to satisfy the conspiracy junkies (aka Tennessean columnists) and errything got turnt 100 with the Title IX investigation...requiring further delicacy. In short, nothing happened...nobody goes to jail and everybody outside of Knoxville still uses it against the Vols. Big stretch? :dunno:

If it were true that Pearson was innocent, then he would be an awfully forgiving person to let it slide, since his name got smeared through the mud.

True...or in lieu of forgiveness he wants this crap over? He could insist on going to court with this grievance...or get on with his life? :dunno:

If it frees him up to continue on with his life/career/dreams..... I'm thinking he might just welcome the resolution no matter how it comes about.

I'm beyond theories at this point. Somebody needs to be fired.

I don't recall Hubbs ever saying that Gruden was coming. He said there was interest. Bent Hobbs may have predicted Gruden to Tennessee.

He may not have directly said "he's coming" but he did make several comments in the war room on VQ about Gruden putting together a staff that had an "orange tint" to it. I only bring it up to put those who flat out say there was no chance or no interest in Gruden coming here, in their place. They are flat out wrong, it was in the works, it just didn't work out.
