I can tell you this too... end of summer, just before the season starts is a very volatile time. Those guys are so tired of summer workouts and excited about the season that things that usually dont escalate get escalated. This is really kind of normal and in a way shows these guys are ready to get down to business.

And before anyone jumps on this post to say it's unnecessary to behave that way... I say I agree with the sentiment but football is a different animal and this is normal in a highly competitive locker room.

If true, then it's a shame that the kid was the victim of this sort of bullying. Hazing is one thing, but brutality is another. If not true, then Croom may have grounds to sue you for libel. So, check your sources.

I have no idea what happened. But only one person was suspended and only one got his walking papers. I trust that Coach Jones, who has all the pertinent information, made the right decision here. Please MzTerry stay outta this thread. Nothing good will come of it. As much as I like all this information being available about my favorite team, I long for the days when things like this and the Martin situation would stay in-house.

It really is funny that a person implies a popular (still here) player did something wrong and the responses were "you weren't there". Then someone else (also not there) implies it is the others fault and gets " yep, that's what happened.. Uh huh, for sure".

I don't care what they say, We're not biased at all here on VN.

I'm surprised Bruce had no more respect for the program and his teammates than that. He was a new player in the program. He should listen and learn from them, not confront them.

Take his "Harry High school" attitude somewhere else.

the poster that said JB stepped on T is correct. JC confronted him about that and they had words. Ended up in a smack down.

I'm not certain of how much talk preceded the hit but JB probably should have respected an upper classman trying to advise him on protocol. My guess is that led to the physical actions.

When does a child become a man? I'd say 18 is a young man..... Especially a football player on scholly at UT. I realize bullying exists, but so does pussery. I'm not saying this is the case, but I am saying that sometimes an individual has to take up for themselves and be a man.
