I'm not sure what he needed. There were lots of thank yous for doing the right thing. There was plenty of propping up when he dropped the name even...shouting down posters who questioned that. But after he told his story, he wasn't an insider anymore. After he and his buddies passed her on to campus police, he knew as much as the rest of us...but that wasn't his message. So we ATTACKED it. :)

The post you are responding to, means in general.

Just go back over the last 3 pages. If you're honest, you can see what people want posted. Several shared what they have heard via media, with sources listed. No one wants that. They appreciate someone responding with positive words. The words can be "No, everything is fine" No sources, no reason other than it's what people want to hear. And others jump right behind.

If the message is ACCURATE INFORMATION not speculation? The messenger is fine and dandy. Are posters bringing positive bull better off than the ones posting negative bull? Water is wet. :).

Bob Mueller had to dodge a little shrapnel when he came out with the Wharton/Jenkins transfer info (mainly because of the "they don't like Butch" add-on), but when it proved true? CHECK MY STATS became part of our lexicon. So much so that when he whiffed on Treyvon Paulk? No flak. We protect our real insiders on here. Rutgers dude went after GFW on the JG thread? Yadayadayada butchna didn't post for a month. :wink2:

Lol for the record, I wasn't really attacking anyone with my post. I don't think anyone was. The post I quoted literally contradicted itself. It didn't make sense. (I realize they were not the poster's words) I appreciate anyone that brings info to any subject on this forum. But if it clearly doesn't make sense, I'm probably going to put my opinion out there.

I think you're doing a lot more talking about people being attacked than is really happening. :thumbsup:

I didn't call your post an attack. The word "attacks" came in while discussing the any OP breaking major negative news threads.

Your post was just a question/statement. One the poster could never answer given he was just quoting, but I certainly never called your post an attack. But look, even tho you inaccurately suggested I did, you already received a "like". And that has been the entire point. Your post doesn't have to be accurate, only what others want to read and vice versa.

Fact: it is human nature to shoot the messenger. Some people as they mature gain the emotional balance and intellectual clarity to avoid it, but most don't.

Fact: people can be taught not to shoot the messenger. Takes some time, usually.

Fact: in public forums / message boards, you can't train the crowd to do anything. Dumb persists.

Solution: unless you can take the shots, don't be the messenger.

Cheap man's solution (sorry, Charger): only be the messenger when the news is good.

No need to be sorry, I choose the cheap mans solution willingly.
If my brother was the lead investigator and told me investigation would be dropped tomorrow, I would start a rumor thread. If he told me of a warrant, I would think "well, they will find out soon enough". I admit that I don't need the flak that would come with lol.

Hopefully the next guy has something to say that doesn't lead you in a complete circle is all I'm saying. I guess that's what this tread is though.

I know I will regret this :pinch: because it's just rumor and it is Will West but I see an obvious disconnect between the two posts. Will never said the coaches had heard info of a warrant.

I would think they would be aware! But that's not the point. What is questioned about Berrys post was actually never even said.

Ok, then you would be assuming that West knows more about what's going on with the case than UT does. Ok, that's fine. I'm just making the opposite assumption. Why would they feel confident he will be back if they are in the dark like we are? It still doesn't add up to me. All I did was point that out lol

Even after pointing out that I didn't believe it :ill_h4h::banghead2:

Will seemed to imply that the coaches last update, it looked positive for Von. Since then, a source informed him that they found cause.

Remember, I'm not suggesting anyone believe the rumor. But the rumor never said that the coaches thought a warrant was being issued or that they weren't going to find out soon. That is where the miscommunication is happening.

That's why I used the word "would". I know you don't actually see it this way. Just saying that to make that assumption you have to assume that West knows more than UT does. That wasn't in berry's post either.

I agree that I doubt West, but some like/believe him.
You don't have to believe Will knows anything true, You only have to understand that was what he (Will) was suggesting - for the rumor to make sense.

Edit: I rushed this post, let me try phrasing better.

For the post to make sense, you don't have to believe Will West has a better source, only that he suggests that he does.

Anyway, I'm done. I just want it to be over. Preferably with Von's name cleared and back on the team. If not, he shouldn't be here if charges are brought and especially not if he's convicted. But at this point it feels like it is only dragging out this long because there is a football player involved.

I agree. I can't even figure out what they are investigating. I have heard/read "Rape", "assault", "misconduct" and "exposure". I would feel more informed knowing what the true investigation even is.

I get the whole "the wheels of justice turn slow" thing, but geeze either charge Von or exonerate him. If you don't have enough to take this to a grand jury by now I doubt you ever will.
