You don't think CDT was going to bring in another recruit to add to the list of possible PGs??
It would appear to me CRB put all his eggs in a basket that looks worrisome at the moment
Blaming a fired coach for a current coach's recruiting is, what can I Say, way out in left field to put it mildly.
We can speculate left and right about what he may or may not have done. The fact is, he didn't. Tyndall didn't appear to have a whole lot of interest in retaining the 2 PGs he inherited from Martin and didn't sign one himself, so who is to blame here?
CRB did put all his eggs in one basket. He had about 15 minutes to do it as well. It's the same with most all coaching changes that happen right up against the deadline. I gave Tyndall the same latitude when he came in. If, at this time next year, we are still searching for a PG, then it falls on CRB.
I'm not playing favorites here as it seems you're suggesting.
I would say you have been the best poster at giving both CDT and CRB the benefit of the doubt but it seemed almost a done deal that Tyndall was bringing in a Pg.
Now how good that recruit would have been is surely debatable but to me it was clear he was bringing one in.
I'm still failing to see how Tyndall signed a PG and Barnes didn't. That's what it sounds like you're getting at. Correct me if I'm wrong.
The statement was made that if the Pg by committee happens(without turner) it would be Tyndalls fault.
My point is Tyndall was bringing in a pg which would have been better than none at all.
Fingers crossed on turner but the post were speaking hypothetically as if turner was out
I'm still missing your main point. Sounds like you're frustrated that there's not a PG on campus right now, and you're mainly attributing that to Barnes. If that is the case, I have to agree with cncchris in that that is more on Tyndall's shoulders than Barnes. If that's not your point, I'm still lost lol.
If turner doesn't make it Barnes deserves the criticism for the not having another pg on the roster not Tyndall because he was going to add 1.
That's the only point I was making
The bulk of the criticism should go to the coach that got himself fired first and foremost. Imo whether he was in line to bring in a pg or not.
But that's probably another argument for another thread.
They are not opposite. In fact, when i hear someone say gym rat a Pg is exactly what i think of of. That being said the point you were trying to make is correct.. Barnes said nothing about him doing well or looking good at pg.

What is a little troubling is that RB recruited a point guard with academic issues at Tennessee considering the Texas internal investigation that may turn into an NCAA investigation.
If you read the article, from my point of view, theres no legs to it, Barnes told reporters Monday in his first public comments on the matter since the report came out. I think Texas has said everything that needed to be said. Im sure theyll proceed with whatever they think they have to do there, but it was made clear that I had no involvement in it, which I knew. If I thought there was something, I would address (it). (Because of) the fact it has no legs, Im not really concerned about it.
Can you prove Tyndall was going to add one, that's a bit of an assumption, no? He had a year to recruit 1 and couldn't get one signed, he also ran off two guys better than anything we currently have on the roster at PG, Tyndall is very much at fault for Barnes having to take a chance on a guy with academic issues.
Without turner this team could really use a mid major level pg
Other than that position I agree with you
Wasn't gray a lock to come if Tyndall stayed??
What was his final story??
