FSU Freshman QB Deandre Johnson Indefinitely Suspended

I agree somewhat to most of your post, but I would say it for both that they should have just walked away, but I have seen the video several times this morning and I certainly do not agree with the bolded. She initiated contact

Is assault not ? Maybe I am unfamiliar with the legal term

Are you watching a video where they are in the shot the entire time? Because the one that shows them enter the shot shows the initial contact, which is him grabbing the bar with his right hand and using her right arm to shove her into the bar and the hipster next to her. If you aren't seeing that, then you aren't seeing the full video. It's not like it's an issue of interpretation, it's what happened versus what didn't happen.

Now, as I've said, something could have happened out of frame. My take is based solely on what the camera caught.

I'm watching the full video that you are referencing. They both got there at just about the same time and he didnt look to be "pinning" her against the bar like you are saying. He had his space and she had hers.....she then pushed against him then got in his face. He didnt pay a single bit of attention to her before she started pushing against him and getting in his face. That's what happened and its clear from the video. What you are interpreting is beyond me.

And you keep saying that he should be charged with assault but dont mention that she should be because she only clinched her fist. A person can be charged with assault without actually touching a person......not sure if thats the case in Florida

So we should ignore the fact the he grabbed her left arm before she raised the fist?

?? I have watched it over and over a few times and dont see where he grabbed her left arm. Perhaps my vision is poor at my old age, but I seriously dont see that. If that's the case, then she isnt in the wrong as much as I initially thought, but that's an if that I just dont see.

I hate agreeing with a Bama fan, but you are right. He was mad because he felt she had cut in front of him.

And those saying that women want to be treated equal so he should be allowed to hit her is not using commons sense. I would hope parents taught them how to be a man. Now I am not saying that if she had just hit him that she should not get in trouble, but she did not, nor should he ever hit her.

He had no reason to be at a bar as a freshman either.

There are two videos, one is from different angle iirc.

Beside the point

And from my view of the video, she was the one who was mad because he wouldnt move out of her way.....then she proceeded to push further and further. Common sense is that you should never lay your hands on another person unless you are threatened and you are using it as a means to defend yourself. Yes, it was a girl, but from the video she was the first to initiate the physicality part of the confrontation and her fist being raised can be defined as assault. I just dont see what BW is talking about when he says he grabbed her left arm first, maybe I am watching the cut video

No he initiated contact when he came up from behind her and started nudging her into the bar. And the part about I put about him being at bar was separated in my point for a reason. Yes it does not matter as it pertains to her, but to him being in situation it does.

Yeah, we are watching different videos because they both got to the bar at exactly the same time. He had established his position and she looked like she needed more real estate and pushed and pushed (which is normal in a bar). She then proceeded to get in his face about it and thats when everything started to get physical. They both should have been locked up IMO, but she will get a pass because she is a chick. I have a college aged daughter and I would definitely be very upset at a man striking my daughter, but I would also be very upset with her for laying her hands on another person regardless of gender when she wasnt being threatened.

Do we know the girl's age?

I think I've figured out why you're confused, and I think I can clear it up:

De'Andre Johnson is the black guy in the ball cap.

The girl is the female with the long blonde hair.

He's a punk Bear. She coulda punched him for an hour straight and not even bruised him. He had a lot to lose and did so. I'm sure he'll get complimentary Tweets from men's rights activists when he's the starting QB at Norfolk State. :clapping:

I am not saying otherwise...............but this girl should be charged as well and shouldnt be given a pass to assault someone just because she is a girl.

Watch the video again and look at the bottom of the screen in the moments before she raises her fist.

She did not assault him.

I do not see him grabbing her left arm....at all (again, maybe you are seeing something that I dont, do you have a link for the video you are watching?). The second she raises her fist, she is guilty of assault, up until that point all I see is normal getting a spot at the bar dance we all have seen and done. We wont agree on what we perceive from the video and it doesn't matter if we do or dont. Will be interesting to see how the case develops.

It's crazy how so many posters go from "everybody gets a trophy and PC is ruining our society" to "she raised her fist and she is now guilty of assault"
