'15 TN TE Kyle Oliver (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Glad to have him!
Does his signing affect his blue shirt status?

Don't think it will be known officially until the player reveals that information himself. Often times they will send in a "fax" for show like they did with J. Robertson (and J. Bruce).

Solid quote from Oliver today on VQ. I'm a sucker for the guys who grew up Vol fans.

"From the get go, I was always going to Tennessee if they offered," Oliver acknowledged. "Growing up in Tennessee, I was always a fan."

No doubt, you always want players that bleed orange on the team. We just need some more high caliber players that bleed orange.

Didn't need an example I know we have them on the team.....just said we need more.
Not every kid is gonna grow up bleeding orange and not every kid that does is good enough to play at UT on or off scholarship. I get what you're saying but we're at a pretty high level now and some have grown to bleed orange (Dobbs, Maggitt, etc.). I don't think being a fan should effect evaluations of players.

McKenzie, Bates, Berry, Berry, Kelly, Creamer
You can even add guys like JRM, Kerbyson, Crowder, etc. We have tons of players that were at least somewhat fans or liked the university before they got scholarships here

Edit: Hurd, Smith, Kendrick

No doubt, being from Illinois and then choosing to go to college at Tennessee, I can relate to those who don't get their orange blood until they turn 17 or 18.

Exactly. Vol fans find their fandom in all sorts of ways. That's why I like seeing guys like Maggitt come in to UT and become one of the biggest influences of positivity about the program on the team, even when he was hurt. I'm guessing he wasn't bleeding orange all his life but idk, could be wrong
