Durant in the SEC discussion (split)

So how many national championships have they won? what about final fours? Hmm

During Mears', DeVoe's, and O'Neill's tenure there were not as many teams invited. The SEC was a football conference and Kentucky was the only school that took bb seriously, however, we gave them as good of competition as anyone. Check the record book! In O'Neill's case, He recruited the best talent en masse that we ever had only to be shot down by our bumbling AD Doug Dickey. Jerry Green then retired to UT and considered himself as an RTL type of coach. Thus, this talent was basically wasted. Pearl took marginal players and coached them up to the point that they almost made it all the way and I believe that he would accomplish that goal if he had not lied to the NCAA. A similar fate befell Donnie because of events at USM which have not yet been proven officially. He did take a Morehead St. team and beat UL and NCAA champ coach Rick Pitino in an NCAA contest. He would have had us very competitive in due time had it not been for the unproven events. One is innocent until proven guilty by my understanding!

I mean Bruce is a good coach there isn't no denying that but 2-1 isn't owning someone. You are just still butthurt that we lost Tyndall and that we upgraded.

What do you mean? Arkansas was 2-1 against Tennessee

Mike Anderson owned Donnie Tyndall, now THAT is embarrassing

First of all, check the rosters of the two schools and Anderson is a better coach than Barnes, as well. He also had 2 future nba stars in Portis and Qualls compared to 2 undersized freshmen, that are no longer with us.

In the 2 losses, one was on the verge of ot if Hubbs hits an open 3 pointer and in the other the game is close because of a big comeback when Josh gets whistled for his 5th foul.

Donnie was gonna recruit highly competitive talent that needed good coaching, however, we all know the rest of the story.

My apologies, first year head coach Steve Wojo owned Tyndall lulz

No doubt, this was an ugly game, as was the first half of the home encounter with LSU. These things happen to us all, no matter what our occupation. Remember that this game came early in the season, but there were many successes that came later.

This season was a roller coaster ride, but Tyndall proved his mettle during his first 3 coaching assignments and with more talent coming his way had he been able to finish the job, I believe that we fans would have been very pleased. That is, the fans who don't depend on point spreads being met! Even Butch Jones gets criticized by them at times.

More talent coming? I must have missed something.

Chris Clark, for one, had it not been for the investigation. If Tyndall just gets a suspension for some games, then there would have been more like him. If it is a show cause, then there are a few good coaches at some level who coach defense that would be suitable replacements. Remember, offense sells tickets; defense wins games, not my quote originally!
