Durant in the SEC discussion (split)

This is pure idiotic and I'll leave it at that. If you seriously would take Curry or Westbrook over him lol. He had a season last year that hasn't been doing in decades. People are so prisoner of the moment. It's still Durant's team. I personally think Westbrook is a top 5 player in the league but he's not Durant.

What's idiotic is claiming that a man who has never been a superb athlete suddenly has injury problems and then claiming he's the best player on the planet.

Again, Westbrook is the better all around player on the Thunder, and far more valuable than Durant is to that team, if you need proof just look when Westbrook was out himself.

Can Durant score? Sure can. Can he Score like Steph Curry? No. Can he pass like Steph curry if his shots aren't falling? No.

Can Durant play 5 positions like Lebron? No. Can Durant Play defense on the level Lebron does on ANY position? No. Can he Rebound or pass with the same consistency every night? No.

Is Durant a better shooter than Westbrook? Yes. Does he have better control of his emotions and judgement in shooting? Yes. Is he even half the athlete Westrbook is? No. As good a defensive player? No. Can Durant walk onto a floor and say "tonight I'm getting a triple double?" like Westbrook did consistently and then proved into fact this year? No.

For Anthony Davis, see Lebron James but not even 25 yet. (And anyone who doesn't think Davis will be the best player bar none in the NBA soon is crazy.)

Is Durant good? Yes. Great? Yes. Best on the planet? Not even close in his best season, and his injuries are only making that gap even further.

Lol durant can play the 1,2,3,4,5 and cheerleader role. He's the best scorer in the league. He's a freak of naturex

Disagree - Durant is way too soft and injury prone at this point in his career. Not a LeBron fan by any stretch of the imagination, but he is hands down the most dominant player in the game and probably one of the five best players of all time. I would put Westbrook, Curry, and A. Davis up there as well. Also think Marc Gasol may be the most underrated player in the league as the guy is 7'1 and has a good mid-range jumper, is the best passing big man in the league, and an elite defender.

Your overall point, especially with Davis, I agree with. However, Durant is a better all-around scorer than Curry. His length makes him very hard to guard. Durant has the whole offensive package, and he scorers in the post a lot better. Curry is also stuck playing PG/SG. KD can play SG/SF/PF/Point Forward (better known as a forward who can bring the ball up the court).

I will say this though, Curry, if he stays healthy, will be the best 3 shooter to ever live. The kid shoots for his career 44% from 3. If I had to pick a team tomorrow to compete for the next 5 years, Curry would be my first pick. Kids unreal, but he's not the best all-around scorer in the NBA. The best shooter? OH YES, but not scorer. KD's length gives him a huge advatage, something Curry will never have...

U do realize that every single yr besides maybe his rookie yr, Durant has scored more ppg than Curry did this season and he avg's as many rebounds as Lebron does even out rebounding him most seasons.....He also avg's over 4 assists per game which is really good for a scorer that has a dominant PG on his team.....I would take Durant against any of those players....it's not a coincidence that they didn't make the playoffs without him.

What are u talking about.....he has played in 74 or more games every yr but two and the other one he played in 66 games. This yr he had a broken foot that they tried to let heal and it didn't so they did surgery.....This is a very fixable injury and he should be fine next season.

Durant is injury prone? He's played the most minutes since he's been in the league. This is the longest he's been injuried. Only player in the league better than Durant is Lebron lmao. If you would take Marc Gasol, Westbrook and Curry over an once and a lifetime type player then ok

While I agree with most of what you say. They had over 100 games missed by starters, hell they started the season with 7 guys injured. Had 6 guys healthy on the roster from last years team at the end of the year, 3 of them being Lamb, Nick and PJ3. They had a crazy amount of new players at the beginning and middle of the year so chemistry was an issue. So they had problems far beyond it simply being, KD was out so they missed the playoffs.

I would take a healthy KD, but seriously that is potentially a scary injury going forward for a guy 6'10. So I sort of see where they are coming from. But in all fairness the way Russ plays scares the ish out of me too.

Durant would be ate alive playing the 4 or 5 positions for extended minutes. He's to soft, fragile, and skinny to do anything on defense at those positions. I'm not so sure he would be very good on offense either. He would be pushed out of the paint more times than not.

He's played the 4 plenty. The 5 you'd be right though.

Serious question. Sorry I offended some. I know he is best now, I didn't follow him in college first 3 years. Excuse me for breathing on VN. Didn't know everyone on here was so cerebral!

For starters, Durant was a one and done, second, The Big 12 has 3 times the quality depth of teams that the SEC has. If you're gonna try to claim something about a player you should probably at least google him so that you actually know something about said player before you go making assumptions.

When has he played the 4 for the majority of the game? How would Durant be able to stop a Zbo like player on defense? How could he score consistently in the paint with his back to the basket?

I think he played against Griffin last year in the playoffs because Ibaka was injured. I'm pretty sure it was last year and they ended up winning the series. He is not as fragile as everyone thinks. This year was his first year with a major injury. His length on D makes up for his lack of strength.

He's a strong mf'er.
