Your ability to pay doesn't mean you love your daughter anymore than someone else who paid the minimum of what the courts ordered, but still wasn't enough for the mother. Consider your situation to be the exception, where you apparently are able to pacify your ex with extra payments that (right now) are keeping you out of court. The very fact that you admit you pay extra to pacify her indicates a problem with the system. Unfortunately, some guys may be doing their part, but fall behind thru no fault of their own (bad economy, layoff, bad weather for some careers in construction, etc) and have to deal with a mother and a court system that doesn't care about their situation. And you are correct, if they fall in arrears, that doesn't go away. In a normal situation, if a man goes through a downturn in income, the family usually goes without or makes adjustments until dad is back on his feet... but the dad isn't expected to make catch up payments on the previous months change in lifestyle. If a father in the home chooses to cut out $120 cable bill and they spend $80 less a month on groceries and gas for 6 months, is that father in arrears for $1200 ($200 X 6 months)?

I didn't mean it that way bc I don't do it to pacify my ex, I do it for my daughter bc I want to be the one supporting her. Typically, if the dad is attempting to make payments and attempting to do the right thing then he will be looked upon favorably by the court. They won't make u pay 200 extra a month.... They will make u pay what u can afford....it's not a perfect system but how do u suggest they make sure all these children are being taken care of?

I am a firm believer that when an officer is off-duty then he or she should be considered and treated as a regular citizen like the rest of us. This absolutely includes leaving the deparment's vehicle at the station, as someone with no authority to enforce the law (which at this point they wouldn't) shouldn't be driving around in a cop car.

And laying rubber in school parking to impress the high school girls

What's this country come to when a cop and his three "brothers" aren't allowed to celebrate their group beating of a perp.

Seriously though... I don't know what's more cowardly... The act itself or the group celebration as if beating of a man who'd be slapped with a felony if he fought back is some sort of an accomplishment.

Weren't you just *****ing about someone taking things you said out of context?

I've tried to talk to you like an adult and discuss things in a rational manner, but you really are just a child like a lot of others on here.

Grow up.

I find it telling that my comment has clearly made you madder than the video itself, as you've made no mention of it.

Let me ask you a few questions and try to be honest. Let's say you're one of the other officers standing around behind that desk. What do you do in that situation? What do most officers do?

While this is a serious situation...... The fact that these guys are caught on video acting like this is humorous...... It's so over the top it looks like a scene from The Other Guys. I

Likely because I hadn't even had the chance to view it before you started making veiled insults towards me.

Don't think I'm too stupid to notice. Contrary to your preconceived notions, cops aren't ignorant.

So you spend more than 20% of your income on the children you live with now in addition to the roughly 20% you have to pay your ex?

So over 40% of your income goes to child support? I call bravo sierra.

U must think it's pretty cheap to raise kids.....every single bill I have could be considered partially for my kids.

I'm not even sure I'd describe it as veiled. Seemed fairly out in the open to me. Though I'd hesitate to call it an insult, I certainly didn't mean it that way. I just feel like the brotherhood you speak of is very pertinent to this particular incident. I only used quotations because it's far from what I'd consider a brotherhood. Certainly not one I'd be interested in being a part of.

Did you read my reply to Dr Dread a couple of days ago?

Partially?... Notice how you hedged right there?

Leveal with me, outside of a roof over your head or food in your belly (items you would have had to pay for rather you had kids or not), how much do you really spend on raising you kids? I know damn well it isn't over 40% of your income, so lets cut the crap.

Baltimore is on fire, but it may not be connected to the rioting .......

Cause and effect... what was the catalyst for the riots? Or, what gave the losers a convenient excuse to pillage and steal beer and televisions?

An answer to either question would be appreciated.
