Pilots taking speed after being up for extended missions is now on par with meth heads. Sounds just like the pot smokers throwing out all this supposed medical data to justify them getting high.

How about you try making an actual argument. Do you have a rebuttal? Or just a bunch of weak personal attacks?
Im not going to get into another discussion with you about drugs.....because youre obviously not going to listen. I will simply state that there is a pretty big difference between street grade abused methamphetamine and pharmaceutical amphetamines. Can both be abused? Yes. Can both be addictive? Yes. But to compare your pilot example and your "dont believe the hype" statement shows me you have read an article and know little about what you are talking about. Ask yourself this question (you dont have to post).....if an uninsured addict that abuses meth ruptures his/her aorta and racks up thousand upon thousands of dollars of medical bills who should pay?
There's my argument on the subject. Now im done with it.
On the surface we probably shouldn't, however my guess is because of the bigger picture. Does that make it right or okay? No.

Agreed, but a human life is just as valuable in the bigger picture to me. That's what we all have honestly lost sight of. We should save that persons life and give them some come to Jesus counseling. Not throw them in a cage.
If some junky (or anybody for that matter) has a ruptured aortic aneurysm, they're most likely gonna die on route to the ER. That is if their junky buddies even have the presence of mind to call EMS.
Plus my tax dollars are already funding everybody's health care problems stemming from (insert bad decision here). Why not meth too?
I wish they would make tomatoes illegal! It's ridiculous! All of these tomatoe eaters just think they can do whatever they want. You're free to eat a tomatoe, but I'm free to call the cops and have your sorry ass put in jail for it too!
And sure, eating a tomatoe doesn't hurt anyone, but we can't just get rid of all of our laws, right? Today they legalize tomatoes, tomorrow baby rape and murder!
