The initial article does say the off duty guy fired the shot. But after the deputy used the Taser which didn't work.

Seems like a valid shoot so far.

Of course you're going to take the side of those murdering pigs! :)

Could be a good shoot, I can admit when I'm wrong.

Fine, I'll address the substance of his post.

In all three incidents you listed, less than lethal force was available to the officers. In the first, it's pretty clear cut to be an example of excessive force in which the individual in question is rightfully going to trial for it.

The second was during a raid in which it went to grand jury. A lot of questions were raised as to the techniques used.

The third incident also came not long after Ferguson where anyone and everyone questioned anything the police did with the motive of racism. And of course, Ezell Ford's death was because of racism. In which it was ignored he attacked an officer and was attempting control of his weapon:

Ezell Ford autopsy: Black man shot in back, side, arm by L.A. police - LA Times

Now was this a case where less than lethal could have been used? Maybe so. And as a reminder, the investigation is still ongoing.

So where in any of these cases does it specifically say none of the police had less than lethal weapons?

In the case above us the cop claimed the victim didn't respond to the non lethal weapon he used. He's not the first officer to claim that. So yes, they do have non lethal options. But that doesn't mean they couldn't use more effective ones.

I'd dare say you've never been tased or pepper sprayed before.

You would not have made that ridiculous comment about "more effective" if you had.

It's all good. It's also hitting a sore spot with me.

Drunk driver (allegedly) in a school zone.

Gas chamber at basic training was miserable.

But I'm hearing this right? Did you just openly question the testimony of a police officer who claimed the victim didn't respond when he used his taser?

That's tear gas. Apples and oranges compared to OC. I've done both multiple times and that gas you went through during the laughable "warrior week" was watered down stuff.

And I'll reply to this statement with an earlier post from today:

I don't count his posts as "countering" at all. Normally it's little more than gibberish and random tangents taken completely out of context.

Seriously? Where did I even imply that?

I stated, in response to your moronic post, that you obviously have never been Tased or pepper sprayed because you wouldn't make ridiculous statements about them being effective or not. Implying you've never experienced it to know whether or not it's effective or not.

The implication here is that they tend to be pretty effective most of the time and other than beating someone with a baton or having a K-9 go after them, are effective at their job. Hence, your statement that officers need "more effective" less than lethal tools is, again, moronic. Because (implying) you have zero basis to make that claim.

How is the hell did you ever become a school teacher? People want to gripe about standards for cops. Good grief, you're living proof there are zero standards of common sense in the education system.

They apparently weren't effective enough today in Robertson County.

And I have plenty of basis to make that claim. There's hundreds of examples of police officers who claim they used their taser and that it was ineffective. That's a perfectly valid basis for a claim.

Unless, like I said earlier, you don't believe these officers.

But not all of the time....once again, perhaps we should invest more in non-lethal weapons and less in drones and other military equipment that local police departments don't need.

No, you're a special kinda of stupid all the time.

What other non-lethal weapons should we invest in? Are you going to invent the ignorance bomb that turns people stupid?

I'm pretty sure a cop will invent that. Some bomb that makes you believe it's acceptable to shoot people in the back or kill people with down syndrome because they argue with a movie attendant.

I am a firm believer that when an officer is off-duty then he or she should be considered and treated as a regular citizen like the rest of us. This absolutely includes leaving the deparment's vehicle at the station, as someone with no authority to enforce the law (which at this point they wouldn't) shouldn't be driving around in a cop car.

Agreed.
