What about for a homeowner or a concealed carry holder? If a suspect is running towards me or away from me (shouldn't matter what direction if they are running), will the law look favorably upon me if I open fire?

In my opinion the direction in which they're running is key. If they've broken in my house and I catch them running away then they got lucky..... If I catch them coming in and they continue to come in without running away....... Double tap
I can't speak for the cops..... I have no idea what their rules of engagement are.

Maybe the guy's cap was on backwards, and the cop thought he was shooting him in the front.
