I just don't understand how two cops couldn't find a way to handle one guy with a screwdriver without pumping him full of lead. I think they knew they'd likely be in the clear if they shot him, so instead of perhaps thinking about alternate methods, they were comfortable in using lethal force. Far too comfortable.

That's my take.

I think comfortable is a word I'd use, just not in the same context. They (the local PD) had been there multiple times and never had an incident and were likely caught surprised.

If you care to, check out the Tueller Drill. Humor me and apply it to this situation.

Wait until all the film comes out. Instead of trying to run away, he may have been running toward a young mother pushing a baby carriage, planning to take her hostage and rape her, and set her baby on fire, then cut off its arms and legs. You just never know what was outside the range of that camera. over to the left.

Guy's dead just because he didn't want to pay child support:hmm:

"Mr. Scott had been arrested about 10 times, mostly for failing to pay child support or show up for court hearings, according to The Post and Courier newspaper of Charleston. He was arrested in 1987 on an assault and battery charge and convicted in 1991 of possession of a bludgeon, the newspaper reported. Mr. Scott’s brother, Anthony, said he believed Mr. Scott had fled from the police on Saturday because he owed child support."

This newest one looks pretty bad for the officer. I'd like to hear more about the tussle prior, but regardless it's not good.

Hey, he won't have to pay it now.

The cop sounds like a psychopath, and an article alludes that he manipulated the evidence. The dead man probably never had the taser.

I've watched the video and here is my forensic analysis..... Cop pulls guy over...... Guy has an outstanding wArrant..... Cop gets a little militant and guy argues back..... Then makes a break for it..... But he's drank a lot of crappy beer over the last 25 years, smoked a ton of weed and cheap ass cigars....cop catches him and ...... I believe he may have tased the dude.....or he had the taser out and dude knocked it out of his hand and it discharged when it hit the ground..... You can see something drag across the ground as he runs away.... Could have been in him or simply caught by his foot if it fired on the ground.....cop freaks.....thinks he may have the taser in his hand..... Pulls pistol and pops 8 rounds in what?......1.5 secs? I think the cop panicked and started shooting.... Even though the guy is running away the cop pops off several rounds in less than a sec......first shot was quick and guy was still Close enough to turn and taze the cop if he had the weapon..... That first round came out and he just kept popping out of fear.......or he just killed the bastard and rather coldly dropped the proverbial ham sandwich tazer by his body as if it was no big deal.....

Regardless..... This dude has been disavowed by the cops..... He's a token and an example..... His goose is cooked.

I would disagree.

This profession grabs a segment of youths with a certain personality. The allure of complete power seems captivating to some people.
