What is really going on??

Honestly, no one knows when Phil is just testing the waters with someone, and when he's actually interested. Reports seem to indicate he was interested in Sencer, but they (the media) lose credibility with each passing day.

If it's such wild speculation then why did it take only one day for Tubby to hire a new OC to replace Borges??

I don't have issue with you saying Tubby had a list. He knew who he wanted and got him. I take exception to you stating Fulmer had no list. That doesn't even make sense. He went after Kippy and Spence, that proves said list does exist.

i guarantee you every coach has a list of possible replacements, just like every AD has. Fulmer has gone through his and according to his reports has evidently had others to interview. He had a couple of interviews that we know of. There's no telling how many he's actually had. we have no idea.

You people have no clue how everything spins around. Just because you get an interview does not make you the favorite for the job. it's just a step to see if they'll take it any further.

I don't believe we had anyone interview this weekend for the job so that's some reason for concern. Unless Phil is gonna interview like 5 coaches tomorrow then his deadline of Tuesday is going to come and pass and with the biggest recruiting weekend of the season coming up that is even MORE reason for concern.

you've got to be kidding me. The guy was the OC at Troy 60 miles away. Tuberville and everybody in lower Alabama knew exactly who the guy was and that he would be a popular choice. It was an easy move to make.

Keep in mind this is the first time Phil's actually went looking for an OC.. he seems to be taking his time. The only thing that bothers me about it like I've said before is the recruiting aspect.

OK, so who's left on it??

Kippy - OUT - Got promotion and will stay in Detroit.

Spence - OUT - Has a love affair with Clemson.

Cignetti - OUT - Going to Cal.

Man I'll be glad when the hire is made. All this crazy speculation has given me a huge headache..

Being concerned is one thing. Acting like Fulmer is walking around with a blank piece of paper and a pen trying to decide who should be the first name on his 'blank' list is another.

oh i don't know, the fact that even your "source" hubbs said he stayed behind instead of going to cali for more interviews. Just a possibility there. Also, it's still the dead and quiet period. We're not missing anything recruiting wise.

I don't know who is on it any more than you do, but do you realize you just posted...... a list?

Have to disagree with you there bill. The coaches can only make one call a week, but the players can call all they want; what do you think they're asking about? I'm not saying it's panic button time, but I don't think you can relax either.

I'm sorry I opened this thread.

It's amazing the Fulmer can get to work every day if he's as incompetent as some propose.

fulmer has proven time and again he's more than a capable recruiter. He can handle the recruiting calls just fine. If he has his coach by Tuesday we didn't miss anything recruiting wise.

I think we will be having around 10-15 guys here this weekend. Someone needs to be here to tell them about the offense. I really hope Fulmer pulls this off.

that's true. I mentioned not being able to get out of his office the other day, but i forgot that meant someone had to get him there from Maryville in the first place.

Well-stated! I'm glad someone else reads some of these posts the same way I do.:) Also, glad that it's the CEO!

I know he's a great recruiter, but the recruits are going to want to know who the OC is sooner than later, at least that's what I would be asking... and also that statement has a big IF in it.

I'd say of those 10-15 not all are offensive players. Besides, I'm certain Fulmer and Adkins can handle themselves just fine if necessary.
