I think that's because it needs to appear "complicated" to justify full employment of coordinators/assistants as well as with high salaries they command.
Those guys get paid more for a reason . . . It's complicated because the things that a high school defense does can't hold a candle to the stuff that a college defense does.

I've been on a lot of high school sidelines and a few JUCO sidelines. The difference in terminology and strategy just from high school to JUCO is unreal. I can't imagine how much more involved it is at the SEC level.

I don't think we will ever convince some around here but the difference between high school and college is HUGE. It's like comparing Tecmo Bowl to Madden 08.

Obviously Malzahn heard his name being thrown around at Knoxville as a possible Offensive Coordinator, and is putting up as many points as possible. Calm down, Gus, you can call the dogs off now.

I was reading his lips and could've sworn I saw him say, 'This one's for you Phil'. :p

Maybe on offense but defense? Ask Eric Berry how hard the transition in terminology is, ask Dennis Rogan how hard it is to return kicks...now, can a guy who's run the veer for 4 years in highschool figure out Cut's offense, well I'll give ya that.:mf_surrender:

Wait, was that Fulmer they just showed in the crowd? I think it was and I believe that was George Quarles sitting beside him. :)

Ask Eric Berry how many offensive plays he called this season. :p

can we track his plane to verify?

Fulmer is a very powerful man. He had the tower logs pulled and doctored at both airports to cover his tracks. He even got to Airman O'Malley and Airman Rodriguez.

Guys Gus coached in the SEC and did very very well. He is not a High School guy anymore. He was shut down by a jerk of a coach who feared for his own job. Why are we comparing him to HS coaches?

Why? Just Curious...if Fulmer is at Farragut High does he beat Quarles?

:post-4-1090547912: Reminds me of that SNL skit with Chicago Bears fans...

Superfans: Bears!!

Bill Swerski: Now, gentlemen, let me ask you this: What if Da Bears were all 14 inches tall, you know, about so high? Now, what's your score of today's game?

Carl Wollarski: Against Da Giants?

Bill Swerski: Yes, give 'em a handicap.

Carl Wollarski: Bears 18, Giants 10. And that would finally be a good game.

Pat Arnold: Yeah, it would be a good game. Mini Bears 24, Giants 14.

Todd O'Conner: What about Ditka? Would he be mini, too?

Bill Swerski: No, he would be full-grown.

Todd O'Conner: Oh, then, uh.. Mini Bears 31, Giants 7.

Carl Wollarski: Oh, hold on. Then I change mine, too. I thought it was Mini Ditka.
