I know he is more than just a high school guy, but that is the complaint most people on here have about him. I have been very impressed with his work, and we are doing ourselves a huge disservice if we don't atleast give this guy a call.

A phone call? Way out there to Tulsa? That is too far... especially just to be calling some high school coach.

And anyway, his offense won't work in the SEC... just like Meyer's offense doesn't work.

I just hope this doesn't turn into an embarassment(i.e. Alabama last year) I don't think UT football needs that right now. This situation is really starting to tick me off. The secrecy is unnerving, and it appears as if we don't have any legit candidates by the way it is being handled. Someone (Fulmer) please give us some hope or a clue at some point.

welcome Jiff. If i may, I'm assuming the debacle was also broyles' fault in your opinion. I would agree with that, but malzahn definitely stoked the fire.

I agree. Daddy Frank was the baddy there. In my opinion, you can't bring a high school coach into the SEC and expect the other coaches to accept him. Even Ar Kansas. ( sorry hog folks for that Less <---lol Milesism. I couldn't resist).

Like anyone should really care about the ego of a coach that gets paid a quarter million to coach a game. If anybody on any coaching staff has a problem with it, then they need to check themselves.

I can't help but watch this bowl game and wonder what Gus would do here....

Agreed and with a COMPLETE lack of other options for one lame excuse or another i.e. Too much money, too qualified; under qualified...Ego maybe, but money shouldn't be the reason we don't get an ubercanidate!

Looks like a good, fun offense for the boys on the hill. In my opinion it looks like this guy can coach to his talent. That is what i want in an oc. If we have a mobile guy run plays to let him run and roll out, but if we have a pocket guy stick four wide and let him make a decision. Like i said on many threads all I want the big orange to do is win ball games and championships.

I know this guy is at Tulsa and I am not saying UT should get him because I dont think we should but a 5,000 yrd passer and 1200 yard rusher is amazing.

Let's put it this way. If we had played Tulsa in the first two months of the season, when the secondary couldn't defend anyone, I wouldn't have been confident of victory. But Tulsa's defense was pretty execrable most of the year. Tonight was really an aberration for their defense.

Son, we play a game that requires offense. And those offenses have to be run by men with clipboards. Who's gonna do it? You? You, George Quarles? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Trooper Taylor and you curse John Chavis. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Cutcliffe's departure, while tragic, probably saved our program. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, wins games...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties.......

:p
I nominate for best post of the new year:clapping:
