The Christian Taliban

Your ignorance of science is staggering yet not surprising.

tell me where i'm wrong gaytorsportsfan. you cannot prove that a piece of bone is millions of years old. you can only assume.

you can't prove that animals evolved from one species to another because there are no transitional fossils.

you cannot do an experiment to create something from nothing because it's not possible.

gaytorsfan, lets prove something came from nothing and then we can go from there.

you evolutionists have no proof, only theories. you have no scientific facts that has proven evolution. you guys have as much faith about evolution as I have creation.

Yet you assume it is a fact. you guys teach it in school as a fact when it is far from it.

I know that creation has not been scientifically proven as with evolution but the evidence of a designer is overwhelming.

how you evolutionist can say that something came from nothing and that something eventually, through random events, created some of the most complex systems in our bodies (DNA, protein chains, etc... is just silly)

it's like if I took a bunch of parts, threw them around and over time the space shuttle was created, and randomly, every safety feature on the space shuttle fit perfectly.

silly silly silly. laughably silly

Genetics proved Evolution as stone cold fact years ago. Evolution is a theory like Gravity.

Just because life evolved on earth doesn't mean that there isn't a God. I don't believe but I know plenty of people that believe in Evolution and God. It doesn't have to be an either or

gravity is a theory? no gravity is proven. I just threw a ball up in the air and it came down to the ground. I did a test. gravity is proven, we don't know how gravity works, but we know that gravity does work because it can be tested. you're confused between the two.

genetics hasn't proved anything about evolution.

as for God and evolution, you can't believe in both. that is a different subject.

I happen to be one of them. I believe in science involved to a point. But just as the atheist crowd proclaims about proving God exists, until you can prove to me God doesn't exist, I'll keep my beliefs in both.

1. The universal genetic code. All cells on Earth, from our white blood cells, to simple bacteria, to cells in the leaves of trees, are capable of reading any piece of DNA from any life form on Earth. This is very strong evidence for a common ancestor from which all life descended.

2. The fossil record. The fossil record shows that the simplest fossils will be found in the oldest rocks, and it can also show a smooth and gradual transition from one form of life to another.

3. Genetic commonalities. Human beings have approximately 96% of genes in common with chimpanzees, about 90% of genes in common with cats (source), 80% with cows (source), 75% with mice (source), and so on. This does not prove that we evolved from chimpanzees or cats, though, only that we shared a common ancestor in the past. And the amount of difference between our genomes corresponds to how long ago our genetic lines diverged.

4. Common traits in embryos. Humans, dogs, snakes, fish, monkeys, eels (and many more life forms) are all considered "chordates" because we belong to the phylum Chordata. One of the features of this phylum is that, as embryos, all these life forms have gill slits, tails, and specific anatomical structures involving the spine. For humans (and other non-fish) the gill slits reform into the bones of the ear and jaw at a later stage in development. But, initially, all chordate embryos strongly resemble each other.
In fact, pig embryos are often dissected in biology classes because of how similar they look to human embryos. These common characteristics could only be possible if all members of the phylum Chordata descended from a common ancestor.

5. Bacterial resistance to antibiotics. Bacteria colonies can only build up a resistance to antibiotics through evolution. It is important to note that in every colony of bacteria, there are a tiny few individuals which are naturally resistant to certain antibiotics. This is because of the random nature of mutations.
When an antibiotic is applied, the initial innoculation will kill most bacteria, leaving behind only those few cells which happen to have the mutations necessary to resist the antibiotics. In subsequent generations, the resistant bacteria reproduce, forming a new colony where every member is resistant to the antibiotic. This is natural selection in action. The antibiotic is "selecting" for organisms which are resistant, and killing any that are not.

Ardipithecus ramidus had a brain the size of a chimp's, but probably walked upright on the ground, while still able to go on all fours in the trees, where it would find its opposable big toe useful (Gibbons, 2009).

LOL. probably, probably probably. this means assumption and assumptions is not a scientific fact unless you want to use your own definition. you explanation is wanting.

if you believe in evolution and god, you believe in a different god and not the God of the Bible.

I think I'll keep my own Christian beliefs to myself and let you believe what you want to believe.

But as for the single celled organisms to current man, no, that's not on my scientific plate.

where did it come from? you can't give me any evidence that something came from nothing. until you can prove that, all this other stuff is irrelevant.

when you prove something came from nothing then we can discuss this silliness.

I'm not trying to attack your beliefs. I was born and raised a Christian myself and most of my family are still Christian

but as a true christian, you have to trust genesis 1:1 because if you don't trust that verse, then the rest of the Bible is void.

I agree 100 percent that we do not know what came before and caused the Big Bang. There are still lots of mysteries out there. That being said just because we do not know what made the universe come into existence doesn't change the fact we have figured out how life spread on earth.

I'm with you on most of your arguments in this thread, however I'm going to have to slightly disagree with your above post. We haven't gotten a straight answer from the crowd asking where they came from, but that doesn't mean the Bible objects to some parts of evolutionist theory.

What I'm trying to say is you are making a blanket statement, or over simplifying the argument at hand.

I do understand what your saying. When I was a believer I thought the same way. I am in no way am trying to attack your beliefs.

i'm not over simplifying. it comes down to two theories.

evolution believes that something came from nothing and that something randomly evolved through mutations.

creation believes that God created the universe in 7 days.

I believe in creation. I reject the theory that we came from random nothingness

if the bible use evolution in creation, it would have said it.

I think the Jesus part is more important than the genesis part. I don't know he seems pretty important. If you can accept that many parts of the bible, including much of Jesus's own teachings, are stories to teach then there is zero point in having a discussion with you. Furthermore there are many scientific theories. You keep disparaging evolution by shrieking theory.
