Really excited to see what Debord can do with this O-Line.

Barnett's quote about Blair makes me think he'll start at LT

I honestly think we'll see this lineup

LT Blair
LG Jackson
C Crowder
RG Robertson
RT Richmond

Kerbyson is better than Jackson, Crowder, and Robertson. If (hopefully) Blair and Richmond/Jones are good enough to take over the tackles then Kerbyson will move inside.

He’s definitely looking good,” Vereen told IT. “In our scout-team periods he was definitely giving us a great look. He’s really good at tackle. He’s long and he’s giving us everything he has

Cory Vereen's quote on Blair.

I realize this is premature, but what are the odds of Richmond starting Day 1 at LT? Also, wouldn't you imagine CBJ mentioned that he had a chance to start day 1 over Blair if he excelled camp? Thanks

I think that Richmond knows that he probably won't start game one, but probably by mid season, which would be better than ole miss. If anyone goes down I think we'll see Kerb move to that spot and Blair take the RT spot. Now if Kerb goes down, we're kinda screwed

No he's not. He was as bad as anyone about pass pro and run blocking.
You guys act like snapping the ball properly is a C only job. Just cause Weisman screwed up snaps you act like Crowder is an all sec C. If Thomas or Weisman get the snaps down, they should be taking his spot. Crowder is not a starter on any other top SEC team imo.

I agree with this. I think he's too small and got overpowered for much of the year. His edge was a lack of mistakes in my opinion.

I'm hoping C. Thomas is our center next year.

“That’s my boy,” said Derek Barnett, who earned Freshman All-America recognition after recording 10 sacks his first year on campus. “He gives me a good look in practice. He don’t let me get nothing easy. He gives me scout-team looks but he makes me work for everything.”

Normal progress should have made Blair a better player in December TaxSlayer Bowl workouts than he was in August preseason workouts. Apparently, strides were made.

“He’s improved a bunch,” Barnett told InsideTennessee. “He pushed me, even on the scout team. He’s gotten a lot more physical and he’s more confident. I know next year he’s going to play a big role for our team.”

Thanks man

He probably had to dictate this message to someone who posted it for him.

Dictated to a group of Benedictine monks who engraved his words on the finest parchment and rode like the wind on the fastest camels in the land to delivereth these words to the mass purveyors of sporting chronicles.

I rewatched the first half of that game where we slayed all the taxes last night. I'm having a really hard time not letting my expectations get out of control. I'm starting to feel like all of our pieces are there. We should be about as dangerous as any team in the country in my opinion. There are not a lot of weaknesses to point to (outside of depth concerns at QB). Especially if Blair and Richmond get up to speed.

There are some unknowns at linebacker. After watching again, I don't think Bynum is the future unless he gets a lot better (that might have been obvious to some, but after the first time I watched I felt really good about him, not as much after going back). I think we have plenty of talented options to work with though.

I think Weatherd is going to emerge as one of our best players on defense next year.

We played almost completely flawless in the first half. Crazy.

Jalen Hurd is unreal and I think he'll be one of the best players in the country next year. Those that think Kamara will be the man are out of their minds. He will compliment Hurd well. He's a great option as number 2. Should be an upgrade over Lane.

Barnett is an obvious beast. But I thought Vereen looked great in that game too. Had their QB running for his life a couple different times.

Owen Williams had a couple of plays where he was just flying off the ball. He could be really really good next year. He reminded me of Dan Williams.

We are lucky to get Randolph back for another year. He's a good player and I feel like I under appreciated him last year.

I used the word "dangerous" specifically because I think we will actually be capable of beating anyone we line up against next year. We almost could last year with all of our best players being freshmen. It should be a fun ride.

It's finally happening.

Go Vols

Robertson was our best lineman last year. He will start at guard next year and have a nice long NFL career as a serviceable interior lineman.

If Barnett thinks he is good, then that's enough for me.

In actual fact, the coaches discovered Blair was all-SEC caliber. He never got the opportunity the first year after repeatedly being beaten by a freshman DE, Barnett. Suddenly, the coaches realized, "it wasn't Blair's suckage they were seeing, but Blair's awesomeness"
