Yeah, there's a lot to observe in such a short clip. In addition to what you said:

1. Who gets on an elevator with a dog on a leash but doesn't block the door to let the dog get on before the door closes.

2. When your dog's about to die, should you drop your eggs or just to try save him with one hand?

3. When your dog's about to die, should you run away from the elevator so you don't get splattered?

4. Further proof that dogs are tough. The dog ran off like it was nothing at the end after nearly getting killed and falling 6 feet.

5. I'm guessing the harness actually helped. A leash might have broken his neck before it snapped. The harness gave way before his body did.

I think people have sorely underestimated the importance of Crowder to that line. Every bit of progress was wiped out when he was injured and the center position became a free running lane for Vandy to shoot through and kill Marlin Lane behind the line in one of the most brutal hits against us all year.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the two games Crowder was out -- Mizzou and Vandy -- were games the offense struggled mightily. In contrast, when he was in the offense under Dobbs performed very well (even against Bama albeit in a losing effort). Losing your center is a BIG loss and losing him at the very end of the year when defenses have experience is damn near catastrophic.

Is it just me or does Cruz look like he has no Hispanic in him? Not trying to be racist or anything, but I had to look him up and was not expecting the portrait I got.

I agree with this. I thought there was an increase in busted assignments without him in there. The snaps were also a little wonky at times. I didn't think Weisman was awful but you could definitely see why the coaches had Crowder starting.

There are a lot of Cruzes so I gotta ask who are you talking about? That said, to answer your question: In the Americas some with Spanish surnames have Spanish (from Spain) heritage that is very much European 'white' with no admixture from those of native or Indian blood. It's actually pretty common in some places. What you're identifying as 'hispanic' is actually just the expression of indigenous heritage (here in North America we'd just call it "Indian Blood") but the term actually Hispanic includes everyone with a shared ethnicity tied to the Spanish Language.

IOW, you can be a white hispanic, black hispanic, mestizo/mixed hispanic, and on and on.

I thought we would actually improve when Crowder went down...owning how wrong I was...best thing he ever did for his legacy was show them what it's like when he's not snapping. :eek:k:

Well that's the curse of being on the oline - fans typically only notice you when you screw up because there's nothing flashy about the 95 percent of the time you're just grinding it out on the line and everything's going ok. I imagine it takes a certain mentality to be on the line knowing the only time most will notice you is when you mess up.

And no doubt about Crowder's legacy, he showed everyone how wrong they were when he wasn't there to snap the ball.
