Paulk to be reinstated [Rumor]

Are you alleging the girlfriend falsely accused Paulk? Did the multiple witnesses listed on the incident report falsely accuse him too?

I said "if true" since you missed it...all I know is that I wasn't there...you're assuming a lot of facts, like I did when the incident occurred...I haven't seen the incident report have you?

I've seen multiple new sources directly quoting from it. I would like to see the full report though.

I guess I don't understand what you were referencing with "if true"...who has said that the allegations were false? Anyone who was actually there?

Maybe the fact that a rumor even exists about his reinstatement? :dunno:

Yet they didn't report she was Highly Intoxicated.

Also, Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in the court of Law.

So her being intoxicated made it ok for him to punch her in the face? Are you serious?

She elected to not press charges, so the "court of law" part doesn't apply.

He was not dismissed because she did or did not press charges. He was dismissed because multiple teammates and other student-athletes witnessed it and told coaches what they saw when asked. He was dismissed because he did not live up to Jones' standard for off-the-field behavior. It had zero to with charges.

If that's true I do not want him back.

I'm sure some people have themselves convinced that he is innocent or perhaps that something she did makes his behavior excusable. I do hope the kid gets his life together and learns from this. I do hope that he becomes a good person and a productive member of society but I do not want him representing my football program after this. UT and other campuses are trying to send a message that violence against women is absolutely not acceptable, for them to reinstate Paulk would be subversive to that message.

Agree with this. Imo kid needs to get that second chance elsewhere.

Are you serious? Look at the Oklahoma situation.

It had everything too do with the police report.

It doesn't matter if she didn't press charges, He's still innocent. He was never proven guilty.

I don't approve of the behavior but it is what it is. They was both drunk and shoving occurred.

Strongly disagree.
If he hit her, he needs to be gone.

You fail to understand the concept. One is not necessarily innocent until proven guilty. One is presumed innocent until proven guilty. That is under the standards of the law.

It is possible for some to maintain a higher standard than the law. Butch has set the bar high. For him it is not a question of law. It is a question of character and a question of fact.

Then you should question Butch as he let Marlin play after being accused for Sexual Assault and there was a police report. But hey, What do I know.

I am not required to question anyone, particularly by some anonymous poster shown to not really know whereof he speaks.

I have served as a police commissioner and attended law school, though I never practiced. I do not claim to be knowledgeable about Marlin's situation. I do know that anyone can file a police complaint for any reason. It depends somewhat on what the report says, not simply the fact that there is one.

I agree. When a person shots another person and the person who was shot did not press charges, the police will still charge the shooter with murder if the victim later dies from the shot. I appreciate the standards which Coach has established. If one doesn't meet those standards, the let the door hit him in his ass as he leaves. Remember, CBJ's father was a cop.

Yes he has a legal right to be innocent until proven guilty by court. What does that have to do with the privilege to play football for our university? Violations of conduct do not have to measure up to the level of proof that it takes to take someone's freedom and put them in jail.

Evidently he didn't violate anything as he is set to return.

We'll see.

Paulk had a handful of witnesses that saw him punch the girl in the face. I'm not sure what is so hard to understand about that. If anything Lane's treatment should show you that Paulk's punishment is justified. He would not still be dismissed if Butch thought he was innocent. A coach shouldn't be judge and jury but he is the caretaker of the reputation of the program.

Just so you guys know, I don't condone of women abuse or domestic violence. This has nothing to do with him being a prospect here. I'm playing the other side as you guys are so quick to judge with the little information you have.

The "little information" I have is that multiple teammates and other students saw the incident. One of his teammates had to pull him off of the girl. I don't need ANY more information than that.

Quick to judge? Little information? Really?

I admitted what I didn't know. You did read that didn't you? I also made statements about the law and police reports. These are not issues about which I have "little information."

On the other hand, you made assertions about the law and other matters about which you were obviously uninformed. I get the impression that, were you to post only about matters on which you were informed, your number of posts would certainly not be in the 4-digit range.
