Apparently he means our three 4* QBs. They are considered so much of "projects" that they were ranked as 4* recruits. I mean, everyone knew that Jajuan Jennings was going to be project at QB because he is still raw (and some think he projects better at Safety). That being said, Dormady has a great arm and S. Jones seems to be Dobbs 2.0. QD and SJ don't appear to be "projects." IMO.

This just makes too much sense, just put you on ignore.

At first I didn't understand why Butch would hire DeBord but I was wiling to give the man a chance. But now the reasoning behind the hire has become more and more clear to me. Now he has to prove himself and then I think those that are unsure of this hire will be onboard. That said, all the uncertainty is understood which comes with most hires.

Farrell's issue with Dormady is the fact that he is coming off of an injury. His issue with Jones is mechanics.

On the radio, Mike Farrell said all three of our QB commits in this class are projects.

What's Farrell's beef with us?...always little subtle things...way too many to chalk up as just being objective.

Interesting way to put it.

All have tons of potential. Scary that one will be the backup if Dobbs goes down, but we aight.

It's not ideal but it's no worse than having nate peterman in there. Dude sht the bed everytime he went into the game. He looked scared to death

If it works, only those with an agenda will still complain...if it doesn't we'll know quickly. Kinda like any hire.

I posted this in the FF, but it was largely overlooked by the anti-DeBord circlejerk. I did a little research into the CMU offense at work yesterday.

Nice analysis. Well done. :good!:

Facts and statistics >> speculation and hand-wringing

I'm puzzled by the venomous arm-chair QB'ing from a lot of people. Debord hasn't coached a game for us yet. Butch brought in two top 5 recruiting classes and changed the perception of our program. He has good reasons for choosing this man. Trust this hire. If the offense is abysmal in the fall, light the torches. For now, sit back, relax, and STFU.

My Illini fan nephew texted me last night because one of their QBs is transferring...a poster on their board was ranting that they should have tried to get in on Peterman...he knew I'd enjoy that. :)

I'm sure this is just an argument in semantics, and I know it's his words and not yours, but how does coming off of an injury make someone a "project"? Mechanics makes sense but not an injury. Can you get healthy? Yes? Great, project complete.

Interesting tidbit from Chris Low's latest: "In the past two classes, the Vols have signed 36 players who were at least a four-star prospect. That’s after signing a total of 23 in the previous three classes."

Lol this. I think that's just saying words because someone asked you to say words.

I heard him on SVP&Russillo the other day and he said he LOVES Josh Rosen, but he's a cocky kid and might need to work on that. He's a project, too, apparently.

That's huge.

It's about the Jimmies and Joes not the Sluts and Hoes (or whatever Bear Bryant said)....

Yeah but, if he's cocky then he could pass the Trent Dilfer keys test so therefore he must be Elite!

Basically, all these guys shouldn't be given as many opportunities to speak in public as the do.
