If Blair has improved....

I think it will be:

Tackles: Blair and Richmond
Guards: Jackson and Robertson
Center: Weisman, Crowder, or Thomas

Also, I know we have several juniors and seniors on the O-line, but if they weren't that impressive last year then what will change? Most improvements happen the first couple of years in the program, not the last year.

Ends: Maggitt, Barnett, Vereen, and Phillips
Tackles: O'Brien, McKenzie, Williams, and Tuttle.

Plus the LB core will be Reeves Maybin, Bates, Weathers, and McDowell. I think the Defense will be solid, but will still need several Freshman to step up.

I do think we win 7 or 8 in the regular season.

I see very little need for freshmen, other than kmac to step up. We have the best DE tandem in the Sec, very athletic linebackers (youre forgetting gavin bryant who i think starts at mlb), very serviceable and in my opinion underrated DTs and the best secondary weve had in years.

SIAP, but Brent Hubbs will be undergoing significant surgery and will be away from Volquest for a while. Prayers and best wishes to he and his family.

We need KMac and Tuttle to be good enough to be in the rotation, and maybe Phillips. I agree otherwise, no freshmen needed.

I understand everyone's excitement. I just wish we could temper expectations for this year. Who knows, this team may improve vastly and could make a push for Atlanta.

The make or break year for Butch is 2016, not 2015.

I know not many people are thrilled with the Debord hire. Honestly, it is Butch's offense and he calls the shots. Debord is there to help with the OL. The only negative I had with the hire was with recruiting; however, I don't think Bajaklan had much responsibility with the recruiting.

I'm more familiar with cancer than the vast majority. Holding your little brother in your arms as he breathes his last, succumbing to terminal brain cancer, is no easy thing. Youth does not equate a lack of experience in the darker side of life.

Anyways people that have terminal or otherwise permanent illnesses make up the vast minority of suicides.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. That seems like a pain that just never goes completely away. :hi:

McNeil was still starting at the end of the year wasn't he?

Yes but tk is just too athletic for mcneil to hold him off. Now that he has over a year in the program i think he takes the spot. Mcneil and coleman being a touch slow and stiff have really burned us the last few years and luckily those days are over. Dont get me wrong, hes not terrible and hes had some huge hits, i just think we have better options now

I agree. He comes in on run stuffing duty but TK gets the start

Freak, there are lots of people in this thread bashing old guys and bald guys. It is very scary. I feel threatened.

He never redshirted. He was listed as a Junior when he left. I think he backed up Dallas Thomas his first year.

Tunsil for Ole Miss was either a LT or RT his first year.

He did redshirt his freshman year. He needed surgery when he got here and sat the year out I'm pretty sure. I know he didn't start his freshman year.

Wasn't tunsil an EE?

1) You're as likely to convince bees not to pollinate flowers as you will Vol fans not have lofty expectations for the 2015 season.

2) I agree with you that 2016 is the year. Our talent will have fully jelled and we should be capable of beating everyone on the schedule. I will not declare Tennessee SEC East Champions when we have yet to win more than seven games in seven years. Now, having said that, I do expect us to improve and perhaps push for the SEC East. But we've got to beat UF, UGA and MO first.

3) I'm perfectly fine with Debord being hired. He has a tremendous amount of experience and he's one hell of a schemer for the offensive line. If he helps improve our running game, then Butch has put a staff in place to win a championship. Let Azzanni handle the passing offense. Let Butch take care of what he was already taking care of anyway.

Don't know if you guys are following the Mike Weber stuff.

Apparently he was going Michigan as of 1 AM yesterday. Ohio state "Von belled" him and he signed with them. His primary recruiter and position coach took a job with the Bears today. He tweeted out "not gonna lie, I'm hurt as hell"

I wanna see evan berry touch the ball as much as possible and hope he handles all returns. Id prefer our defensive starters not being in that position

I'm kind of weirdly pumped about DeBord. Calling plays isn't that crazy or difficult. We need somebody who will commit to the running game and help get this oline to start playing like some animals. Dobbs has the ability to create something out of nothing if all else goes wrong.

Specific coaches in this system don't mean as much as they did when Dooley was here in my opinion. He never had a clear direction and the team leadership was spread too thin among the staff. Under Butch, we have a clear and dominant alpha male leader at the helm with a clear philosophy on how he wants things done. You don't join the staff at TN now to change the culture, you come to join the culture that's already there and already working.

Debord brings a ton of experience to the offensive side of the ball. This is a great situation for a guy like him to walk into. He is incredibly lucky to get an opportunity like this. Not sure there are any other big time head coaches in the country that would give him this chance.

Butch has been around him enough to know whether or not he can do the job. He obviously has a ton of respect for him. If Debord was incompetent, Butch would have known that from working with him and probably wouldn't be bringing him in to this once in a lifetime situation he's created here.

Let's be real. With the talent we have, Butch could have hired whoever he wanted. I think that's exactly what he did. I'm down with it.
