Speaks for itself, indeed! This is two years in a row I've gotten to say this on NSD. I've been keeping up with several threads all day long, and never once saw the words, "diamond in the rough" like I read on here every year of Dooley's tenure. I'm so glad to have another recruiting class that speaks for itself!
This morning on doc Jeff and heather, a caller asked about Micah abernathy's brother and his weight...
After many ugh... Ummm.. Wellllss.. Heather sarcastically says, Well I don't understand why we would care about that...
Until the caller fills her in on him being a transfer to UT...
Then they bash his weight and somebody says, well wasn't there a small skill player from Florida that killed UT? Somebody says something james....
Heather says, I think there was a Brandon James, but he was a linebacker...
That show (especially heather and Mickey) is a joke..
These ppl talk UT sports for a living every day and are still clueless... Heather gets off on talking about guys flirting with her when she played volleyball for UT....

After crunching the recruiting numbers, I wanted to give you guys a cursory look at what adding another top 5 class does to the talent based predictions for 2015. Understand that averaging four years of rival classes yields a prediction rate approaching 70% in general and over 80% for UT under Jones. These numbers do not reflect Jones' "coach effect" which is positive overall but negative at UT.
1) this will be the most talented UT team to take the field since 2005, and about the 13th most talented team in the nation.
2) UT gained ground on downward trending UGA and UF, but didn't overtake either.
3) UT is now more talented than Oklahoma.
4) Texas A&M actually jumped UT in these talent averages pushing the Vols back a spot overall in the SEC.
5) Another top 5 class next year could likely jump Tennessee back on top of the SEC east and potentially top 3 in SEC and top 5 nationally. There are currently 2 classes in Tenn's average that were right around 20, bringing the average down. Those need to be flushed before we see big jumps in these numbers.
6) looking at each of the Vols 2015 regular season opponents ranked by talent averages would indicate a record of 9-3 (5-3 SEC). Adjusted for uncertainty puts the over/under at about 7.5 games (4.5 SEC).
I'll clean this up and write more later, with some visual aides.
Ive also been working on a formula to determine 2015's likely outcome. So far the best one i have is B+T=W's. Its quite complex though so ive included a visual aid of my own so as to not confuse anyone. Thoughts?
Agreed. Great post.I'll be ok with 8 wins. As long as one is Florida. I think we finally get Georgia.Florida is a loss until I see the win.
2015 we can beat anyone, depending on if OL has progressed, Dobbs health, and certain curses against a certain team. So tired of finding ways to lose to Georgia and Florida. Maybe we make it over the hump. Gonna be a good year regardless go vols
