Here's a random thought

Butch said they wasn't gonna release information about Bajah leaving until after NSD. So here's this, What if Butch has been interviewing for at least 2 Weeks now and we're just not getting the wind of it?

The time cost, mental stress on the prosecutor, and victim impact are other considerations. I'm sure there are more.

I asked if he had his OC and was waiting to announce after NSD as a courtesy to the HC.

This place will explode if we land Drew Richmond and Butch announces virtually anyone other than DeBord as OC on NSD.

I really like everyone's theories about why an OC hire hasn't been made yet and I hope most of them are true. However, if you are really against Debord being hired you need to manage your expectations. Just tell yourself that Debord is going to be hired. Rationalize to yourself that it's a good hire. Then if Butch hires someone else you will be pleasantly surprised, but it he hires Debord you won't have a complete meltdown.

He wasn't waiting until NSD to announce Jake was leaving. Jake said the plan was to wait until this past Monday to go public so he could visit with players and Butch could have time to gather candidates without a lot of craziness but news broke on last Thursday so they had to go with it.

IMO Butch was hoping to squeeze the Debord wknd visit in without a lot of people watching his every move.

He may be waiting until NSD because of how fanbase went nuts on Twitter and message boards at just the rumor so he doesn't want any negativity anywhere leading up to NSD

The news would also get buried on NSD. I think he's confident in DeBord but worried about the public perception, but NSD is so crazy that no one will give it much attention.

Maybe I'm just doing some of that rationalization you mentioned, but I don't think there's a need for a meltdown at all.

DeBord has been a successful OC at a big-time program in the past, he fits in with this staff and won't rock the boat in terms of continuity, and he's not about to overhaul Butch's offense in favor of his own.

He may add a few things, and most likely he'll call games differently than Bajakian did. But I don't see that as a bad thing. And would we really complain if he tries to pound the rock with Hurd and Kamara a little more than Bajakian would have?

My concern is that he leaves us with no set QB coach and that he may or may not be an asset as a recruiter (I have no idea there). Not sure how we fix the first part yet, but I highly doubt that it goes unfixed. As for that second point, he can be a massive positive on the recruiting trail just by winning us some damned football games in the next few years.

Not a sexy hire but one I can get behind regardless.

If the juror did not lie or try to cover up the rape from 20 years ago it may not be considered to be relevant. The defense will have to prove that the juror did something "illegal". I would find it extremely hard to believe that 12 jurors could be found that hadn't been effected by a friend, relative or acquaintance that had been through some form of sexual assault.

I don't know many of the rules for that type of stuff but the juror can't be called to testify, ever, so it's generally really hard to prove/win those violations.

It was on the news the jurors were asked prior to selection. The juror allegedly did not report that they were a rape victim.

Too late. It's a done deal. In fact, I have hand picked our offensive coaches and assistants right here on VN.

Volitil is the kicking coach. Got his son a scholly already.

Tux reluctantly agreed to be QB coach, and will be implementing new mutton footballs. (Had to arrange a meeting at his table to talk business)

Lebvol kindly accepted the role of counting.. things..

Pattycake has to be a cheerleader :air_kiss:

Vol Lady's job is to makes sure we are getting enough fluids. And medicine.

Glichten writes poems for the team as inspiration.

Volssam has the special job of implementing gifs on the jumbo tron to distract the opposing teams offense.

Bob Mueller as stat keeper. (I checked them)

And Butchna is just my bit... I mean personal assistant.
